Bindi Irwin’s Family Honored Her Late Dad Steve With a Never-Before-Seen Photo

Bindi Irwin always holds her parents Steve and Terri Irwin close to her heart — but even more so on special occasions.

On July 23, the Australian TV personality celebrated her 24th birthday surrounded by her husband, Chandler Powell, and their daughter, Grace Warrior. Bindi’s mom and younger brother, Robert Irwin, were also in attendance for the mountainside intimate party complete with a two-tier floral decorated cake.

Shortly after Bindi shared the heartwarming family photos on social media, Terri posted her own message honoring Bindi and her late husband. “24 years ago our lives changed for the better,” she wrote on Twitter. “I remember when you were born, Steve cried happy tears, then showed everyone in the hospital his beautiful baby girl. He loved you from the moment he met you, and I know he is so very proud of you. Happy birthday my dear Bindi Sue.”

Steve, a beloved Australian zookeeper famous for his show The Crocodile Hunter, died in 2006 following an incident with an eight-foot wide stingray. Over the years, the entire Irwin family has memorialized him during heartfelt events, never forgetting his impact on them and the world.

Reacting to her mom’s tweet, Bindi expressed her gratitude. “Mum, Thank you for these kind words and making my day so special,” Bindi replied. “You and Dad are the greatest parents in the world and I love you both with all my heart.”

Without hesitation, fans of the family also dropped their thoughtful comments.

“You could just tell how much love this guy had for his family. He adored [you], and his kids, it was always clear to see, even to us at home watching him on TV. Forever missed ♥️,” another added. “Happy Birthday Bindi..we loved watching your dad and mom and their love story!! Terri thanks for continuing his Legacy and raising two beautiful human beings!! You’re all a blessing and he is smiling down from heaven,” a different fan said.

Most recently, Bindi posted a throwback snippet of Steve and Terri holding a Burmese python snake. “Celebrating #worldsnakeday with the most amazing Wildlife Warriors,” she captioned the Instagram video. “Hope this Crocodile Hunter clip brings you as much happiness as it did for me. 💚.”
