Bill Skarsgård's remake of The Crow has finally confirmed its release date.

The gothic revenge thriller is taking over John Wick spin-off Ballerina's summer release date of June 7, 2024, while Ballerina has been moved back to June 6, 2025 (via Deadline).

The Crow, which is a remake of the 1994 film of the same name, follows Eric Draven (Skarsgård), who returns from the dead to seek vengeance on those who brutally killed him and his fiancée Shelly (FKA Twigs) the night before their wedding.

Other cast members include Yellowstone and Succession's Danny Huston, Foundation's Laura Birn, 1899's Isabella Wei, The Woman King's Jordan Bolger and Sami Bouajila. Rupert Sanders (Snow White and the Huntsman) directs, while Oscar nominee Zach Baylin (King Richard) co-wrote the screenplay with Will Schneider.

Elsewhere, Skarsgård is also set to star in the upcoming sequel to Nicolas Cage's 2005 movie Lord of War.

The film will see Cage reprise his role as arms dealer Yuri Orlov, who discovers he has a son (Skarsgård) who is trying to take over the arms dealing marketplace while building a mercenary army to fight America's Middle East conflicts.

The first film's original writer and director Andrew Niccol is returning to oversee the sequel, while Cage is co-producing with Skarsgård.

"There is so much more to explore with these characters. Plato said it best – 'Only the dead have seen the end of war,'" Niccol said on the film's surprise announcement. "I'm looking forward to spending more time in the company of the charming devil that is Yuri Orlov and now his illegitimate son – who turns out to not be legitimate in any way."

The Crow will arrive in cinemas on June 7, 2024.
