Bill Gates has a prediction about the next 4 to 6 months and it’s not good

Though it does look like there is an end in sight when it comes to the coronavirus pandemic, we still have a long way to go. Bill Gates, who has been somewhat of a prophet when it comes to this pandemic now has a prediction for the upcoming months.

The winter of our discontent

With coronavirus cases rising across the country, public health officials have begun voicing their concerns about Christmas and New Years’ festivities.

These two potential super spreader holidays have led some experts to dub the next coming months, the dark winter. The US is already experiencing record deaths and hospitalizations, bringing the national total of positive cases to 16,782,029.

“Forecasts show over 200,00 additional deaths. If we would follow the rules in terms of wearing masks and not mixing we could avoid a large percentage of those deaths,” Gates told CNN this morning. “In the near term, it’s bad news. But the next four to six months really call on us to do our best because we can see that this will end, and you don’t want someone you love to be the last person to die of coronavirus. I thought the US would do a better job handling it.”

Lawmakers presiding over disproportionately affected regions, like New York and California have initiated stay-at-home orders that prohibit indoor dining and enforce capacity limitations.

There aren’t any current plans for a national lockdown, but similar restrictions will likely appear throughout the industrial midwest.

Pfizer and BionTech’s vaccine doses reportedly require specific temperatures to remain preserved. Their clinical trials proved to be an unprecedented success, though the vaccine candidates presently awaiting emergency authorization may be easier to both manufacture and administer for the general public.

“I think we need to help all of humanity here. We want the world economy to be going and we want to minimize the death. We need to ramp up the capacity of all the vaccines,” Gates continued.

Because immunity, be it natural or clinically induced, is so unpredictable, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are urging everyone above the age of 16 to receive two doses of the vaccines on their way to US health systems. This goes for those who have already contracted the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) as well.

Pregnant women and young children have not gone through clinical vaccine trials yet, but every cohort that did has responded positively to them, with some experiencing headaches and fatigue for about a day.

“Immunization with a safe and effective COVID-19 vaccine is a critical component of the United States strategy to reduce COVID-19-related illnesses, hospitalizations, and deaths and to help restore societal functioning,” the agency reports. “The goal of the U.S. government is to have enough COVID-19 vaccine for all people in the United States who wish to be vaccinated.

Like all vaccines, COVID-19 mRNA vaccines have been rigorously tested for
safety before being authorized for use in the United States – mRNA technology is new, but not unknown. They have been studied for more
than a decade – mRNA vaccines do not contain a live virus and do not carry a risk of causing disease in the vaccinated person – mRNA from the vaccine never enters the nucleus of the cell and does not affect or interact with a person’s DNA.”
