The Sentinel contacted two other Holland locations — employees at both confirmed the permanent closure.

There are five remaining locations in the area, including four in Holland in Riley Plaza, Hope College, Chicago Drive and Washington Avenue, and one in Zeeland on Main Avenue. There's also a location just north of Saugatuck.

The Biggby Coffee website has yet to reflect the closure, and there's no mention on the franchise's local social media pages.

Despite the closure, Holland's coffee scene continues to flourish.

In March, Foxtail Coffee announced they'd open on Eighth Street, filling the former home of Ferris Coffee. Foxtail plans to open this summer.

There are also plans to open a Seven Brew Coffee on 16th Street, on the plot of land that formerly held Boston Market.

In February, The 205 Coffee Bar — under new ownership — announced it'll remain open later on Fridays and Saturdays. Holland and Zeeland are also home to seven Starbucks locations and a Ziggi's.
