All-Big East Conference football and volleyball teams released

Twelve Sioux Valley football and volleyball players have received All-Big East Conference honors.

Seniors Brock Christopherson, Hudsyn Ruesink and Boden Schiller; junior Donovan Rose and sophomore Preston Top each earned all-league 11-man honors for the Cossacks, who went 5-0 in BEC play in football.

Seniors Chris Hornick, Skylar Trygstad and Austin Siegel each received honorable mention.

Juniors Adison Renkly and Kaedyn Sapp each made the All-BEC volleyball team for Sioux Valley, which went 3-4 in league play.

Junior Sunny Hesby and sophomore Talya Vincent each received honorable mention.

Other 11-man All-BEC selections include seniors Evan Fornia, Jake Gale and Garrett Merkley and junior Hudson Kempf of Elk Point-Jefferson; senior Drake Gustafson and juniors Jaxon Koch and Jason Zeeb of Bridgewater-Emery/Ethan; seniors Levi Berens, Ray Travnicek and Levi Wieman of Parker; juniors Ben Ballard and Paul Parsley of Flandreau; seniors Ty Morrison and Carter Randall of McCook Central-Montrose; seniors Jack Stenen and Robert Watkins of Beresford; anjd seniors Payton Anderson and Landon Petersen of Baltic.

Also receiving honorable mention are senior Reed Sayler and juniors Keaton Gale and Grayson Girard of Elk Point-Jefferson; senior Taite Klumb and juniors Kean Stevenson and Macklen Weber of Bridgewater-Emery/Ethan; senior Brendan Peterson, junior Karter Headrick and sophomore Emmet Skroch of Flandreau; seniors Owen Alley and Carter Jandl and junior Logan Raap of McCook Central-Montrose; seniors Seth James and Gaval Valder and junior Cooper Nelson of Beresford; and senior Tate Feucht and juniors Braxten Allen and Ryder Siemonsma of Baltic.

All-BEC nine-man honorees are senior Brayden Schutt and juniors Alfred Frankenhoff, Garret Hansen and Aiden Hilbelink of Chester Area and senior Blaine Trower of Garretson.

Senior Luke Arneson and sophomores Jaxton Opdahl and Zach Moyer of Chester Area and senior Tyler Edmundson of Garretson recevied honorable mention.

Other all-conference honorees include sophomores Emery Larson and Lily VanHal and freshman Jacy Wolf of Chester, senior Baily Teveldal and junior Daynica Wetzel of Baltic, senior Kaylin Koch and junior Aleah Wagner of Garretson, seniors Lily Klein and Claire Sheppard of Flandreau, senior Kayla Vander Woude of McCook Central-Montrose, junior Halle Berens of Parker and senior Larissa Lyle of Beresford.

Others receiving honorable mention are senior Addison Bates and sophomore Emmerson Eppard of Chester, junior Maiya Fredrickson and sophomore Meredith Larson of Baltic, senior Sydney Olson and junior Isabella Sysa of Garretson, senior Abby Wagner and junior Maddy Lauck of McCook Central-Montrose; junior Jenna VanVelzen and sophomore Braelyn Berens of Parker and juniors Abby Limoges and Kelley Merrigan of Beresford.
