'Big Brother' Houseguest Who Used Racial Slur Accuses Fellow Star of Snitching to HR

Luke Valentine

Luke Valentine, the Big Brother 25 contestant who was removed from the series after using a racial slur, has accused a fellow houseguest of going to HR about it and getting him booted off the show.

Valentine, an illustrator from Florida, took to his Instagram Story earlier this week to try and explain why he was removed from the series in August, essentially throwing another cast member under the bus.

In the clip, which has since gone viral on X (formerly Twitter), Valentine began by addressing a question from a viewer: why he was kicked off the series but another contestant (Jared Fields), who fans believe also violated the show's code of conduct was not.

According to Valentine, he was removed from the show because he was caught using hate speech on live TV, whereas Fields was not. Valentine also blamed his former co-star Corey Wurtenberger for the consequences of his actions, stating Wurtenberger filed a complaint with HR afterward.

Fields has since admitted to using vulgar and offensive language towards people with intellectual disabilities, but producers did not forcefully remove him as a houseguest despite outrage from viewers. He was later voted out in an eviction.

After the original clip of Valentine's controversy went viral, CBS put out a statement that excluded the mention of Fields or Wurtenberger. "Luke violated the BIG BROTHER code of conduct and there is zero tolerance in the house for using a racial slur. He has been removed from the house," the network said at the time. "His departure will be addressed in Thursday night’s show."

As for who's left to participate in tonight's finale, the final three are: Bowie Jane, Jag Bains and Matt Klotz. Viewers can tune in to the two-hour special at 8 p.m. EST on CBS or the Paramount app.
