Big Bend Best: Vote for the Campus USA Credit Union Athlete of the Week for April 22-27

The polls for the Campus USA Credit Union Athlete of the Week are open, and we are off to the races.

With a big weekend of district meets for track and field, we have 10 nominations coming from the district meets, with a handful of multi-event winners making the cut. After hundreds of events run over the weekend, which athlete can win the race for the Campus USA Credit Union Athlete of the Week for April 22-27?

The poll closes Thursday at 12 p.m. and results will be announced Friday at noon.

Sacori Gardner, Rickards track and field

Stats: Placed first in two races at the FHSAA 3A District 2 finals, winning the girl's 100-meter with a time of 12.02, and the 200-meter with a time of 25.02.

Logan Martin, St. John Paul II (JPII) track and field

Stats: Placed first in the girl's shot put at the 1A District 3 track meet, throwing 31-11.75 to win.

Alana Wilson, Maclay track and field

Stats: Placed first in three races at the 1A District 3 finals, winning the girl's 100-meter with a time of 12.63, the 200-meter with a time of 25.97 and the 400-meter with a time of 1:00.13

Kendrick Scott, Lincoln track and field

Stats: Placed first at the 3A District 2 finals in the boy's shot put competition, throwing 162-04.50.

Patrick Koon, Leon track and field

Stats: Placed first in two races at the 3A District 2 finals, winning the boys 1600-meter race with a time of 4:23.40 and the 3200-meter with a time of 9:36.46.

Micahi Danzy, Florida High track and field

Stats: Placed first in three races at the 2A District 2 finals, winning the boy's 100-meter with a time of 10.99, the 200-meter with a time of 21.50 and the 400-meter with a time of 47.79.

Ay'keelah Green, Florida High track and field

Stats: Placed first in two races at the 2A District 2 finals, winning the girl's 100-meter hurdle with a time of 14.86 and the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:07.09.

Cade Swart, Chiles track and field

Stats: Placed first in two races at the 4A District 1 finals, winning the boy's 110-meter hurdle with a time of 14.50 and the 400-meter hurdle with a time of 52.773.

Jake Atwood, Chiles track and field

Stats: Placed first in the boy's shot put and discus finals at the 4A District 1 final, throwing for 50-02.75 in the shot put and 179-04.25 in the discus.

Delvin Chambers, Jefferson County track and field

Stats: Placed first in two races at the 1A District 3 finals, winning the boy's 100-meter race with a time of 11.02 and the 200-meter race with a time of 22.52.
