Better Call Saul star Bob Odenkirk lands next lead movie role
Better Call Saul star Bob Odenkirk has landed his next lead movie role, joining the cast for Normal.
As per Deadline, the star will collaborate once more with Nobody screenwriter Derek Kolstad for another action feature, with director Ben Wheatley helming the project.
Normal will see Odenkirk play Ulysses, who is "thrust into the temporary role of the sheriff for the small sleepy town Normal after the previous one's untimely death. When the town's bank is robbed by an out-of-town couple, he arrives on the scene to find that the town is hiding much more sinister deep-seated secrets under its surface," the synopsis reads.

"Everyone – from the bartender to the priest – is in on it. And now Ulysses, who's up-till-now focused only on running away from the demons of his past, must uncover the full extent of this criminal conspiracy."
Wheatley has previous experience in the genre with Free Fire and Meg 2: The Trench, whilst Kolstad has a credit for the first film in the John Wick series. Odenkirk is currently the only confirmed cast member for Normal, which has no release date.
Odenkirk recently revealed that he had a royal connection to the UK after discovering that he was a distant relative of King Charles III, but the star explained that his heritage in the US means he doesn't have a close connection with the monarchy.

"[That's] like a part of history that I didn't think I was any part of," he said. "But I'm an American, I'm not a monarchist. I don't believe in that. You know, I feel like it's a little twisted," he said.
"I understand why society built itself around monarchs and leaders, and they passed them down through generations. I understand that goes through every society, every civilisation. But I think that we've gone to a better place with democracy and we should keep going down that road," he added.
