Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse was the best superhero movie of 2023, and wowed fans across the world with its phenomenal visuals and banging soundtrack. One of the best ways to watch the film was in IMAX theaters — and if you missed out the first time, you’ve got another chance to see it.

Spider-Verse co-writer Christopher Miller announced on Twitter that Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse would be returning to IMAX theaters in the US for a limited time later this month.

“If you didn’t get the chance to catch Across the Spider-Verse on the big screen – where you can see the jaw-dropping level of detail and innovation lovingly put into every frame – you’ve got another chance!” Miller tweeted, “It’s returning to IMAX for a limited release on January 19th. Don’t miss it!”

Across the Spider-Verse is the first follow-up to Into the Spider-Verse, a wildly successful movie that made ripples through the animation industry with its bold art style and strong art direction. The film was a smashing success, and although it didn’t bring in quite as much at the box office as its live-action MCU counterparts, it holds a critic score of 95% on Rotten Tomatoes, with an audience score of 94%.

Across the Spider-Verse was initially intended to be a two-part movie, but was ultimately turned into two separate movies, with the second – Beyond the Spider-Verse – coming later. It did end on a pretty significant cliffhanger, though, and fans are anxious to finally see the conclusion.

No release date has been set for Beyond the Spider-Verse yet, but it’s expected to launch in late 2024 at the earliest, or more likely in 2025. It’s expected to be the end of the initial Spider-Verse trilogy, but a spinoff film featuring Spider-Gwen, Jessica Drew’s Spider-Woman and Silk and titled Spider-Women is in the works.
