The Best Reactions to Taylor Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department

Taylor Swift’s new album, The Tortured Poets Department, is finally officially here, and of course the internet has a lot to discuss. Between the Charlie Puth and Destin, Florida, shoutouts, X, formerly known as Twitter, is a meme factory right now. Take a break from sobbing to Swift’s new music (a surprise double album), and check out the all of the best tweets about The Tortured Poets Department.

As one can image, Swifties are having an emotional time with this raw album.

Then, at 2 a.m., Swift announced that The Tortured Poets Department is actually a surprise double album, with 15 extra songs.

That brings the grand total to 31 tracks, which of course, fans were excited about. But, that also meant Swifties had serious homework to do—decoding lyrics to unearth exactly what each song is about.

Fans are making guesses about which exes Swift sings out. One X user even compared her to the Mamma Mia character Donna.

We can’t forget to mention how Swift sings about her mother, Andrea, in the track “thanK you aIMee,” which is (maybe, probably?) about her infamous feud with Kim Kardashian.

At the end of the day, The Tortured Poets Department is emotional and vulnerable, with heartfelt lyrics that will make your eyes water.

There may be some digs, but if anybody comes of looking great, it’s Charlie Puth, who gets his own special shoutout in the album’s title track.

Of course, we can’t forget that Swift also mentioned Destin, Florida.

There’s nobody Swift fans love more than Swift, so they were happy to hear when she named herself in “Clara Bow.”

Glee fans were also having their fun with this album.

It’s clear Swift had fun making this album, and fans can’t wait to see where this new era takes her.
