The best play from every XFL team in week 2

The XFL has completed the second week of it’s regular season. The league started by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Dany Garcia and Gerry Cardinale’s RedBird Capital has attracted a viewership that has sometimes surpassed college basketball and the NHL.

In week 2 the XFL brought more exciting play and game-changing moments here are the best from each team.

Arlington Renegades

In a game where their offense struggled with consistency and scoring it’s encouraging to see that Drew Plitt is capable of making plays like the one above even in a loss. The Renegades lost 23-14 to the Roughnecks.

Houston Roughnecks

The Roughnecks made a statement with an interception on the first play of the game. The Roughnecks defense didn’t let up after the interception forcing two more turnovers in the win.

San Antonio Brahmas

In a matchup of two winless teams, the Brahmas would be victorious due to the quarterback play of Jack Coan who threw for 165 yards with three touchdowns in the 30 -12 victory.

Orlando Guardians

Winless through two games the Guardians have struggled due to the inconsistent play they’ve received from their quarterbacks and their defense which has struggled to stop opposing offenses. Playing the struggling Renegades offense next week could be just what the Guardians defense needs.

D.C. Defenders

The Defenders defense has been a force to be reckoned with over two weeks and was especially stout in the 18-6 win over the Vipers. The defensive unit only allowed one touchdown which came after the Vipers took over from the two-yard line.

Vegas Vipers

Both losses this season for the Vipers have come after surrendering halftime leads. Vegas failed to score in the second half but still kept the game close till the fourth quarter. The Vipers will have to work on closing games out but their defense has been phenomenal to start the season.

St Louis Battlehawks

A.J. McCarron has come up clutch for the Battlehawks in both of his first two games. This week McCarron led a game-winning drive that ended with a field goal as time expired to lift his team to a 20-18 victory over the Seattle Sea Dragons.

Seattle Sea Dragons

Both of the Sea Dragons losses this year have been nail-biters. Ben DiNucci played well in the game throwing for 196 yards with two touchdowns. DiNucci’s second touchdown pass came with 1:21 remaining and looked to be the final score of the game till McCarron worked his late-game magic.
