In 1711, Queen Anne founded Royal Ascot, the annual horse-racing event, and since, it has remained a staple on the British royal family's annual calendar. The Royal Ascot has a strict dress code: men must wear "a full morning suit with waistcoat and either a black or grey top hat at all times," and women need to wear hats, and dresses that cover their shoulders. The royals even have to wear name tags.
The event was historically a favorite of Queen Elizabeth's, and this is the first year the royals will attend without their late matriarch. On each day, King Charles and Queen Camilla attended, along with many other royals and members of Camilla's family. Here, see all the best photos of the British royal family at the 2023 Royal Ascot:
Day Five: June 24, 2023
King Charles and Queen Camilla were in attendance on all five days.

On the final day, they were joined by an assortment of extended royal family members, including Prince Michael of Kent's children Lady Gabriella Windsor and Lord Frederick Windsor.
In the Royal Box, King Charles chatted with Sophie Winkleman, a.k.a. Lady Sophie Windsor.
She playfully squeezed her husband Lord Frederick Windsor's face.
Lady Gabriella Windsor and her husband Thomas Kingston watched the racing from the Royal Box.
Day Four: June 23, 2023
On the fourth day, the Prince and Princess of Wales made their first Royal Ascot appearance of the year!
Kate looked lovely in a bright red Alexander McQueen dress, and Philip Treacy hat. Read more on her Ascot outfit here.
They rode in a carriage with Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.
Beatrice was in a lacey floral dress.
Judi Dench was also in the carriage procession.
King Charles and Queen Camilla were back for the fourth day in a row. They were accompanied by the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire.
Queen Camilla was in a white dress and a black and white hat.
Camilla and Kate were photographed speaking together.
Princess Michael of Kent and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, were among the royals in attendance on day four.
The Duchess of Edinburgh opted for a pale pink outfit.
Kate and Beatrice were spotted chatting after they disembarked from the carriages.
Flora Vesterberg (right) was in attendance again, too.
She was joined by her husband, Timothy Vesterberg.
Sophie and Kate were spotted cheering on the horses together.
Edo and Princess Beatrice were also spotted in the royal box.
Day Three: June 22, 2023
King Charles and Queen Camilla led the procession for a third day in a row!

Princess Anne, too, marked her third day of attendance.
In the Princess Royal's carriage included her husband Timothy Laurence, Qatari royal Sheikh Hamad bin Abdullah Al Thani, and King Charles's former equerry Lord Soames of Fletching.
Princess Anne's daughter, Zara (left, in white), was also at the Royal Ascot for the third day in a row.
Zara was joined by her husband, Mike. For day three, she wore an all-white outfit, and carried an Aspinal bag.
Zara was spotted in her favorite sunglasses.
Mike, too, added shades to his Ascot fit.
Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh attended the Royal Ascot day three with her 92-year-old father Christopher Rhys Jones.
He carried a pair of binoculars.
Sophie wore a summery white floral dress by Suzannah and a pale blue hat.

For Ladies Day, Camilla wore a pale green chiffon dress by Anna Valentine and a hat by Philip Treacy (for the third day in a row!). She also accessorized with a diamond brooch that belonged to the late Queen Elizabeth.
King Charles and Queen Camilla watched closely after the King's horse, Desert Hero, ridden by Tom Marquand wins the King George V Stakes.

Day Two: June 21, 2023
Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh looked lovely on the second day of the Royal Ascot.
For the day two, King Charles III and Queen Camilla once again led the carriage procession.
Queen Camilla chose a pale pink coat dress by Anna Valentine for day two, and another Philip Treacy hat.
Zara and Mike Tindall were in attendance once again. They're pictured here with Maureen Haggas.
Zara's green hat was a sculptural masterpiece.
She laughed with her husband as they rode in the cariages.
Prince Edward wore the same tie he's been wearing to the Royal Ascot for over a decade. (Yes, really!)
Princess Anne was in a blue and white look.
The Royal Ascot was always Queen Elizabeth's favorite event, but King Charles seems to be enjoying it just as much.
Camilla and Sophie walked in side-by-side; the Duchess of Edinburgh carried her go-to Strathberry bag.
Camilla's ex-husband, Andrew Parker Bowles, was in attendance at the Royal Ascot.
The Queen was pictured catching up with her ex, and with Lord Soames of Fletching (center).
Prince Michael of Kent (center) and Princess Michael of Kent (right) were spotted at day two, with Elizabeth Segerstrom.
Timothy Laurence and Mike Tindall watched the races together.
Princess Alexandra's granddaughter Zenouska Mowatt was there, too.
Day One: June 20, 2023
King Charles and Queen Camilla arrived in the first carriage for the first day of the Royal Ascot.

The King and Queen were joined by Charles Wellesley, the 9th Duke of Wellington and Princess Antonia, the Duchess of Wellington.
Princess Anne rode alongside Camilla's sister, Annabel.
Charles carried an umbrella as they walked to the royal enclosure.
Also in attendance on day one was Princess Anne's daughter, Zara Tindall, wearing a green floral dress.
She arrived with her husband Mike Tindall.
Camilla's nephew, Ben Elliot, joined his mom at the Royal Ascot.
He arrived in the carriages with his wife, Mary-Clare Elliot.
King Charles looked happy to be in attendance at the Royal Ascot.
The King chatted with his niece, Zara, and her husband, Mike.
Princess Anne's son, Peter Phillips (right), was in attendance alongside his girlfriend, Lindsay Wallace.
This is Wallace's second Royal Ascot attending with the royal family. She also appeared last year.
