Here's an October surprise: Prime Day 2022 is back. No, you haven't traveled through a time portal. Yes, this is Day 2 of Amazon's second Prime Day event of the year, and just like last time, it brings big price drops on zillions of products. Particularly TVs. If you've been thinking about a new one to carry you through football season, catch up on the new Game of Thrones or Lord of the Rings series or just binge your way through Bob's Burgers (highly recommended), this is the time. October Prime Day 2022 is home to some legitimately great TV deals.

Below I've rounded up some top picks based on personal experience, user ratings and the biggest discounts. As always, the best deals tend to go quickly (see the very first one), but there's good news for latecomers: Black Friday will be here before you know it, and a lot of these deals will have a second showing.

Remember, you need to be an Amazon Prime member to take advantage of these deals. Here's how you can sign up for a free trial, which also gives you complimentary shipping. See all of our Prime Early Access Sale coverage here and shop the early Prime Day deals here.

If you've decided it's time for a home-theater upgrade, well, you've just found your new TV. It features 4K Ultra HD, HDR 10, and HLG, along with Amazon's patented Fire TV Alexa remote. Oh, and, as the customer below relates, it'll sync immediately to your pre-existing Fire devices. What's not to love?

"There really isn't anything bad to say about this TV. Great picture, very easy to mount, and the setup was super easy. Since I already had Fire TV devices, it just transferred all the info to the new TV. Whole process with the update and such took less than 10 minutes. At this price, just great."

TV budget won't stretch past $100? No problem: Insignia's 32-inch F20 Series streams everything under the sun thanks to its built-in Fire TV interface. It even has a voice remote with Alexa.

Take note, however, that it has a 720p display resolution, which is a far cry from 4K. At this size, however, the picture will still look plenty sharp — hence the overwhelmingly positive average score (4.6 stars) from over 85,000 Amazon buyers.

Ready to go big? This is the time: Amazon's mammoth 75-inch Fire TV Omni series has only been priced this low once before. For just over $700 you get a lovely screen enhanced by Dolby Vision (but not Dolby Atmos, alas), hands-free Alexa control and Amazon's rock-solid Fire TV interface. And check out the reviews: 4.6 stars from over 18,000 buyers.

One thing worth noting: There's a newer version of this TV, the Omni QLED Series, that adds Quantum Dot to the mix, but it doesn't start shipping until later this month and has a price tag of $1,100. If you don't want to wait (or spend that much), this is worth considering.

Maybe you can't judge a book by its cover, but you can judge a TV by its ratings. The LG OLED C1 Series earned a jaw-dropping 4.8-star average from over 6,100 Amazon customers, meaning if you don't like this TV, it's probably because you dropped it on your foot or something.

Based on OLED technology, which produces image color and clarity that's also jaw-dropping, the C1 features a dedicated game mode, your choice of Alexa or Google Assistant voice controls and the "Dolby twins": Atmos and Vision IQ. This is also a remarkably thin TV with almost zero bezel surrounding it. If you're ready to splurge, take advantage of this all-time-low pricing.

If Quantum Dot is on your short list of must-have TV features, the Hisense 65U7G should be on your short list of TVs. It's a top-rated model offering that coveted technology, which promises ultra-realistic color and superb brightness, for a lot less than many competing ones.

The 65U7G runs the Android TV operating system but can also recognize Alexa voice commands if you prefer that to Google Assistant. It supports Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision, local dimming and a dedicated mode for gaming. I've actually had the opportunity to test the TV, and it's a stunner. Highly recommended at this price.

I know: 86 inches. A home theater in your living room. Dream come true. Just make absolutely sure this thing will actually fit, because you can't conceive of how big a screen this really is. Your current TV stand is almost certainly too small to hold it. Your current wall mount is probably too weak.

Those logistics aside, the TU9010 Series will bring those aforementioned home-theater dreams to life. It's a dazzling, borderless 4K screen outfitted with Samsung's software (feel free to plug in a Fire TV or Roku if you don't care for it) and your choice of voice assistants: Alexa, Bixby or Google. This TV earned a 4.6-star average rating from over 800 customers, so chances are good you'll love it.
