Everybody buys groceries. So why not get paid for it? Choosing the right credit card to use at the grocery store could mean hundreds of extra dollars in your pocket each year.

Here are the best credit cards to use when you’re buying groceries.

Cardholders who have the American Express Blue Cash Preferred card can earn 6% cash back on the first $6,000 they spend on groceries each year at supermarkets in the U.S., then 1% thereafter. They also earn 6% cash back on U.S. streaming services, 3% cash back on U.S. transit, 3% cash back at U.S. gas stations and 1% cash back on everything else. Terms apply.

The Blue Cash Preferred Card has a $0 intro annual fee for the first year, then a $95 annual fee. The interest rate is 0% APR for the first 12 months, and then APR.

There is a current new card member offer of $250 back, issued as a statement credit, when you spend $3,000 in purchases on the card in the first six months.

Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Card

If you have Amazon Prime, and you shop at Whole Foods Market, this is the grocery store credit card for you. You’ll earn 5% cash back on every purchase at Whole Foods Market and at Amazon. You’ll also get 2% cash back at restaurants, gas stations and drugstores, and 1% cash back everywhere else. Upon approval for the card, you’ll also receive a $150 Amazon gift card, which will automatically be loaded into your Amazon.com account.

If you don’t have Amazon Prime, you can get the Amazon Rewards Signature Card and still get 3% cash back at Whole Foods Market and Amazon, 2% cash back at restaurants, gas stations, drugstores and 1% cash back everywhere else. Plus, you’ll receive a $60 Amazon gift card.

This card, which is issued by Chase, has no annual fee and no foreign transaction fees and has an APR of . And there’s no limit to the amount of cash back you can earn. You can redeem your rewards for cash back to your card, for gift cards, travel expenses or purchases on Amazon.com.

The Citi Custom Cash Card gives you 5% cash back on up to $500 in spending in the category you spend the most on each month. So, if you spend $500 on groceries, $200 at restaurants and $45 at drugstores in January, you’ll get 5% cash back on your grocery purchases. If you spend $400 on groceries and $600 at restaurants in February, you’ll get 5% cash back on the first $500 you spent at restaurants.

The categories are grocery stores, restaurants and dining, gas stations, travel, transit, drugstores, streaming services, home improvement stores, live entertainment and fitness clubs. You’ll earn 1% cash back on all other purchases.

If you open a new account and spend $1,500 in the first six months, you’ll also get a bonus of $200 cash back.

The Citi Custom Cash Card has an introductory APR of 0% for the first 15 months for purchases and for balance transfers completed within four months of opening the account. After that, the interest rate is APR. The card has no annual fee.

Capital One SavorOne Rewards Card

Holders of the Capital One SavorOne Rewards Card get unlimited 3% cash back at grocery stores — except for superstores like Target and Walmart — and also on dining, entertainment and streaming services. They get 1% cash back on all other purchases.

New cardmembers get a $200 cash bonus if they spend $500 on purchases within the first three months of opening the account.

The has no annual fee. The interest rate is 0% APR for 15 months for purchases and balance transfers, although balance transfers incur a 3% fee. After the introductory period, the interest rate is APR.

With the Blue Cash Everyday Card from American Express, Member FDIC, you will earn 3% cash back at U.S. supermarkets, on U.S. online retail purchases and at U.S. gas stations on up to $6,000 per year in each of these categories. After the category caps are hit, you will earn 1% back and will also earn 1% back on all of your other eligible purchases. Terms apply.

When you spend $2,000 on purchases in the first six months, you earn a $100 statement credit, and you can also earn 20% back as a statement credit, up to $150 back, when you shop with PayPal. That is a total of up to $250 in welcome offer bonuses. Terms apply.

This card, unlike its big brother the Blue Cash Preferred Card, has no annual fee. It also has an introductory interest rate of 0% APR on purchases and balance transfers for the first 15 months. After that, it’s a variable rate, which is currently APR.

With the Bank of America Customized Cash Rewards Card, you get 2% cash back at grocery stores and wholesale clubs, plus 3% cash back in one category of your choice. Categories include gas, dining, travel, online shopping, drug stores and home improvement or furnishings. Your 2% and 3% cash-back rewards are capped at the first $2,500 in combined purchases per quarter. On everything else, you get 1% cash back.

If you are a Bank of America, Member FDIC, Preferred Rewards customer, you can earn 25% to 75% more cash back. Preferred Rewards are based on your total balance with Bank of America, including deposit and loan accounts. Additionally, after making at least $1,000 in purchases in the first 90 days of account opening, you’ll earn a $200 online cash rewards bonus.

This card has no annual fee, and new cardholders get 0% APR on purchases and balance transfers for the first 18 billing cycles. However, there is a 3% fee for balance transfers, with a minimum fee of $10. After the introductory period, the interest rate is currently APR.
