The Best Coffee Shops near UNT for Studying
Is the library getting mundane? Can't study in your dorm? Starbucks just isn't cutting it? If you're looking for a new study spot, or need your caffeine fix, here's a run-down of the best coffee shops near UNT.
1. Kimzey's Coffee
Only a 15-minute drive from campus, this whimsy coffee shop accommodates all of your cottage-core needs. Located in a cottage in Argyle, Kimzey's serves fresh pastries, espresso, and teas. There is plenty of seating for everyone, whether it's just you, or a group of ten.
2. West Oak Coffee Bar
West Oak Coffee Bar is located in Denton Square, just a few minutes away from the university. At this Denton staple, you can choose from a selection of house-roasted coffee, craft beers, and a multitude of breakfast and lunch offerings.
3. Jupiter House
Jupiter House is also located on the Square. Climb up to the second story, and get a view overlooking the courthouse. As one of the best coffee shops near UNT, this place is known for their gooey scratch-made cinnamon rolls, fresh bagel sandwiches, and delicious caffeinated beverages. The lively, funky interior is sure to keep you inspired and productive.
4. Aura Coffee
If you're looking for a place that is walking distance from campus, Aura is just a step away, located on W Hickory Street. There is plenty of seating, and a variety of food and drink to choose from.
5. Zera Coffee
Zera's is the go-to for many UNT students due to their tasty drinks, abundant seating, and late closing time. When you buy something here, you're not only supporting a local business, but also a non-profit. All proceeds go to Denton Freedom House, an organization that helps men dealing with substance abuse.
6. Avoca Coffee Roasters
Avoca originally hails from Fort Worth, and is a new arrival to the Denton coffee scene. Come here for great drinks, great service, and great vibes! Don't forget to try a bagel dog.

This futuristic coffee shop is the perfect place to come grab a latte and hit the books. If you find yourself easily distracted, Sons has a black-out room to help you to stay focused.
