Joe Burrow entered the NFL with lofty expectations in large part because he dismantled the SEC while he was at LSU. Unfortunately, the Cincinnati Bengals quarterback had his rookie year cut short due to an ACL injury.

Though he’s only played in 10 NFL games, Burrow has clearly earned his teammates’ trust and support. He’s even receiving awesome nicknames from some of the veterans in the locker room.

On Thursday, Bengals defensive lineman Mike Daniels referred to Burrow as “baby Aaron” during an appearance on NFL Network’s Good Morning Football. This is a nod to Aaron Rodgers, who was teammates with Daniels for several years in Green Bay.

“You know what I say about Joe Burrow, man. That’s like ‘baby Aaron,'” Daniels said on Good Morning Football.

Daniels was then asked if Burrow can accomplish what Rodgers has in the NFL. Judging by his response, Daniels is all in on Burrow.

“You don’t see many rookies step into a locker room, and you can tell, you would think he’s a four-year vet if you didn’t know who he was,” Daniels told NFL Network’s Nate Burleson. “To have that at the quarterback position, that means he has the right type of savvy, the right type of poise that you only see from guys like Aaron. I’ve been saying this since I got there. I see a lot of similarities between the two. I’m just excited to be able to be a part of that, man. The kid’s got a lot to him. He’s got a lot of upside. He’s only going to get better. You talk to Who Dey nation, man, they’re gonna let you know. Joe Burrow is the savior, man! He really is to this organization.”

Prior to the ACL injury, Burrow completed 65.3 percent of his passes for 2,688 yards, 13 touchdowns and five interceptions.

Burrow can validate his “baby Aaron” nickname with a strong 2021 season.
