Is Vanna White L_A_I_G Wheel of Fortune?

The legendary game show co-host and North Myrtle Beach native is talking openly about her future alongside Pat Sajak as the pair’s contracts are set to expire after the 2023-24 season.

“I think when Merv Griffin chose both of us, 40 and 41 years ago, he saw something between us — a brother-sister type relationship,” White, 65, told PEOPLE magazine Dec. 5. “And I think that is kind of what it is. He saw that we would be able to get along, and we do. We are like a brother and sister team.”

Sajak, 76, raised eyebrows when he told Entertainment Tonight the “end is near” for his tenure, which quickly had fans asking if Vanna would leave at the same time.

“Years go by fast. We’re getting near the end. It’s been a long [time]. We’re not gonna do this for another 40 years. The end is near,” Sajak told the show. “... It’s an honor to have been in people’s living rooms for that long. People were out there welcoming us. We’re happy and proud.”

Born on Feb. 18, 1957, White headed to Atlanta after graduating from North Myrtle Beach High School, attending the Atlanta School of Fashion and Design.

White went on to compete in the 1978 Miss Georgia competition. She famously ran Contestants’ Row during a 1980 episode of The Price is Right, marking her first game show appearance.

White’s Wheel of Fortune debut as official co-host came on Dec. 13, 1982. The fashion icon wore an off-the-shoulder lilac dress.

According to a fan page, White has “touched the wheel” eight times — most recently in January 2020.

White told PEOPLE it was hard for her to imagine Wheel of Fortune continuing should its iconic duo retire.

“I can’t imagine. Everybody relates Wheel of Fortune to Pat and Vanna. We’re like Ken and Barbie, you know?” she told the magazine. “We’ve been in everybody’s homes for 40 years, so it would be weird having somebody else turn my letters.”
