Bellingham woman facing multiple charges after night club altercation, alleged harassment

A Bellingham woman has been arrested and faces multiple charges after allegedly assaulting two people at a club.

Court documents show Maia Jade Bear-Schiesser, 20, was arrested on suspicion of first-degree and second-degree assault, harassment, reckless endangerment and malicious mischief following an incident that began around 10:20 p.m. May 3 at The Happy Place, a club on Cornwall Avenue.

Victim A reported that Bear-Schiesser hit him hard in the left ear with an open hand, and he believes she may have ruptured his eardrum, according to the Western Washington University Police probable cause document.

Bear-Schiesser was removed from the club by security but came back inside and assaulted Victim B, according to police. She was again removed from the club.

Victim A was known to Bear-Schiesser prior to the assault. Victim B later received threatening text messages from Bear-Schiesser, according to court documents.

Around 11:40 p.m Bear-Schiesser had another encounter with the two victims outside a dorm building in the 200 block of Highland Drive at WWU , this time seeing them in a vehicle with a third person. Bear-Schiesser reportedly threw a rock at the vehicle, causing an estimated $750 in damages.

Those in the car flagged down WWU police, who arrested Bear-Schiesser at her residence.
