After nearly two years of dating, Bella Hadid and Marc Kalman have called it quits. Insiders close to the couple revealed to Entertainment Tonight that the duo broke up in the spring. "They were very in love, but the relationship ultimately ran its course, and they decided to end things," the source said. "Bella is a very nice person but struggles with the pressures of fame. She has been trying to take care of herself since their split."
Hours before their split was confirmed, an insider told ET that the supermodel was on medical leave and seeking treatment for Lyme disease. "Bella Hadid has been on medical leave for the past four months and is in daily treatment for Lyme disease," the insider explained.
He is an art director
Marc is well-known for his work in merchandise design, album art, and branding. His profile includes projects with Travis Scott, Milk Studios MADE Fashion Week, KNG Records, and eyewear brand Smoke x Mirrors. He’s also served as a fashion assistant for The New York Times Style Magazine.
He and Bella reportedly began dating in July 2020
After Bella posted her first picture with Marc, Page Six reported that the couple had kept their relationship a secret for an entire year. An anonymous source told the outlet that they started dating in July 2020 but “hid it well.”
“If they went out, he would come out first, get the car, and then she would get into the car. They would drive to a location, and he’d drop her off but not get out and go park the car,” they said. “They were very diligent about not being seen on a public street at the same time.”
Bella and Marc have never commented publicly about the start of their relationship, but they were first sighted together in Lower Manhattan in July 2020 — although Marc stands a few feet behind Bella.

It seems that the couple’s meet-cute happened fairly naturally. A source close to Bella and Marc told E! News in July 2021 that they “had met before in New York City while working. He has been the creative behind many fashion projects, and they have crossed paths several times.”

E! News’s source also shared that the twosome have gotten pretty serious, and Bella is “completely smitten” with her man. “Now that they have become more serious, she has been excited to be seen with him,” they told the outlet. “She is truly so happy right now.”
Bella’s family reportedly approves of Marc as well. “She's introduced him to her family, and they all think he's a great guy,” the source revealed.

Marc and Bella follow each other on Instagram, but his account is set to private. He doesn’t have a profile picture, either.
