Bella Hadid Is Making the Striped Bonnet the Hottest Fall Accessory
Balaclavas may have been all the rage among the fashion set last fall, but a new accessory is now throwing its hat in the ring.
Enter the bonnet.
During a recent outing in New York City, Bella Hadid wore a knitted red-and-white-striped iteration of the humble headgear. She styled her brightly colored bonnet with a baggy black knee-length dress, which featured bulbous cutouts halfway down the sleeves. To layer up, the supermodel opted for navy blue tights and chunky below-the-knee black boots from Prada. Other accessories included her signature oval sunglasses, as well as an earthy brown distressed leather satchel.
Hadid is known for her boundary-pushing street style. Whether it's stacking belts like bangles or inventing a new way to wear a turtleneck, she clearly isn't afraid to experiment with the conventions of fashion.
During an interview earlier this year, Hadid opened up about what her personal sense of fashion is and how her outfits influence today's trends.
"I'm dead-on. I know what I like. I always have, since I was young. And I've never drifted," she said. "I look outside and I see a hundred people dressed exactly like me, just because of what Instagram is."
She spoke of similar sentiment while in conversation with WSJ. Magazine this past January.
"In the last year, it was really important for me to learn that even if people talk about my style or if they like it or if they don't, it doesn't matter, because it's my style," she said at the time.
