10 things to know about Beaufort’s Water Festival. For one thing, ticketing has changed

Beaufort’s biggest festival kicked off Friday afternoon with the arts and crafts market at Waterfront Park, with opening ceremonies scheduled for Friday evening that included a performance by the Parris Island Marine Band and fireworks.

On Saturday, Eli Young Band is the headline performer but Kidd G also will take the stage. Peytan Porter is the opening act. Gates open at 6 p.m. Tickets are $30. There’s a free shuttle service from Beaufort County Government Center.

Here’s what’s on tap Saturday at Waterfront Park:

Raft race, 8:30 a.m. to noon.

Bocce tournament, 8 a.m.

Badminton tournament, 9 a.m.

Children’s toad fishing tournament, 10 a.m. to noon, free, but bring your own rod, reel and tackle. Bait will be provided.

Shrimp boat tours, noon to 4 p.m., free.
