One of the best? Enjoying a delicious frozen treat.

Whether it’s a scoop of fresh strawberry ice cream, a hot fudge sundae, a banana split or a frozen yogurt with a plethora of toppings, beating the heat is a done deal.

Using some reviews from Yelp, and TripAdvisor, here are some of the best places to go in Middle Georgia for ice cream and other frozen treats.

Scoops (Forsyth)

Rating: 5/5 stars (6 reviews)

Review: “An amazing spot to sit down and have a sweet treat. They literally have everything; incredible ice cream, old fashioned candy, candy machines, cookies to die for, gourmet chocolates and a friendly welcoming atmosphere. If you are in the area, don’t miss this spot,” wrote John.

Favorites on the menu: piña colada sundae, butter pecan ice cream, yellow cake batter ice cream and Superman ice cream.

Schultze’s Old Fashioned Soda Shop (Perry)

Rating: 4/5 stars on Yelp (19 reviews)

Review: “Just by chance, or perhaps luck would be more accurate, my wife and I stopped into Schultze’s for dinner. What a great old fashioned soda shop. The real eye openers are the specialty sundaes. They are not only just tasty treats, they are works of art,” said Joe.

Favorites on the menu: burgers, hot dogs, specialty sundaes, vanilla ice cream and banana ice cream.

Macon Swirls (Macon)

Rating: 3.5/5 stars on Yelp (23 reviews)

Review: “Hands down the best frozen yogurt I’ve had in Macon, and beyond. Quality taste, superb flavors, lovely staff, comfy place setting and great prices. Favorite part has to be the grand topping selection that is always kept filled and fresh,” said Ania.

Favorites on the menu: any of the toppings and Tigers Blood Italian ice.

Tutti frutti (Macon)

Rating: 4/5 stars on Yelp (8 reviews)

Review: “Not all fro-yo places are created equal, and Tutti frutti is among the best. They have a ton of flavors with some sugar free options. But the best part is the toppings bar. The selection is fantastic; three kinds of boba; lots of fruit, candy, and nuts; and mochi, my favorite. It gets pricey if you go wild with toppings, but the price isn’t bad for a standard size cup. (Mine usually runs about $4.50.) The staff are always friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere is bright and cheerful,” said Emily.

Favorites on the menu: fruit and candy topping selections and boba.

Marble Slab (Macon)

Rating: 3.5/5 stars on Yelp (13 reviews)

Review: “Great place. I came in with just a few minutes, and my server did an amazing job of making my mix quickly but magnificently: it tasted great. Perfect mix of ice cream and mix-ins. Facility was clean, loads of options, friendly service: recommended. Thank you,” wrote Zach.

Favorites on the menu: ice cream cakes, waffle cones, milkshakes and candy toppings.

Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers (Macon)

Rating: 4/5 stars on TripAdvisor (22 reviews)

Review: “Just popped in for a Chicago Dog and a Turtle Custard. We were not disappointed. The top cut bun was perfectly toasted and the dog itself was snappy and good. The custard was delicious, period,” said Robb.

Favorites on the menu: dirt and worms custard, turtle custard and root beer float.

Baskin-Robbins (Macon)
