‘The Bear’ Season 3 Trailer: Jeremy Allen White and Ayo Edebiri Spar as New Restaurant Opens

Carmy and company are back in the first trailer for “The Bear” Season 3. (Apparently he didn’t freeze to death in that freezer!)

As the prodigy chef, played by Jeremy Allen White, opens the new restaurant alongside Sydney (Ayo Edebiri) and Richie (Ebon Moss-Bachrach), they find themselves once again sparring. In one scene, Carmy yells, “No surprise!” after Richie brings a piñata into the kitchen. Richie responds: “Yes, surprise!”

In a shorter teaser released five days earlier, Sydney tells Carmy and Richie: “This is a dysfunctional kitchen!,” to which they respond in unison: “Show me a functional one!”

All episodes of award-winning FX dramedy are set to release on June 27 and will be available to stream on Hulu in the U.S. (and Disney+ internationally).

Season 2 of “The Bear” saw Carmy (Jeremy Allen White), Sydney (Ayo Edebiri) and Richie (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) work together to transform their sandwich shop into a fine dining restaurant. The cast also includes Lionel Boyce, Matty Matheson, Liza Colón-Zayas and Abby Elliott. Season 2 also introduced Jamie Lee Curtis as Donna Berzatto, Carmy’s mom, and included cameos from John Mulaney, Sarah Paulson, Jon Bernthal, Will Poulter, Gillian Jacobs, Bob Odenkirk, Olivia Colman, Sarah Ramos, Donnie Madia, Joel McHale and Alex Moffat.

White spoke to Variety last year about his Season 3 preparation, saying “I do know in January I’m going to spend a fair amount of time getting together with some chefs. There’ll be a menu set, I believe, that’s going to be for the restaurant in the third season. And I know that I’m going to start putting together that menu with different chefs and cooking and just trying to get prepared to do more of that stuff on camera. We all did a lot of preparation before the first season. I went to culinary school and I spent a lot of time in restaurants and stuff. And then, for the second season, so much of it was about putting the restaurant together, so there wasn’t that much cooking. But now, in the third season, I think we’re going to go back to that functioning kitchen atmosphere that we had in the first.”

White went on to explain what it was like working with Curtis in Season 2, saying, “She was so excellent, so prepared. She understood Donna in this way prior to ever stepping foot on set. It’s quite a difficult thing to do, even for actors as established as Jamie to step into a world and very quickly make a choice, flesh out a character and fit into the environment that’s already been established.”

“The Bear” was created and executive produced by Christopher Storer. Additional executive producers include Joanna Calo, Matty Matheson, Hiro Murai and Josh Senior.
