1. Record Store Day features exclusive vinyl

Record Store Day will be celebrated on Saturday at Erie St Vinyl in Massillon and Quonset Hut in Canton.

Special vinyl releases, only available at participating independent record stores, include "Dark Matter," a new album by Pearl Jam in an exclusive variant of yellow and black ghostly; a seven-inch single of "Stick Season" by Olivia Rodrigo and Noah Kahan; U2, "Atomic City" performed live at Sphere in Las Vegas; Wilco's box set "The Whole Love Expanded"; Pixies, "Live From Red Rocks 2005"; and Queen Latifah with "Nature of a Sistah."

Erie St Vinyl, 46 Erie St N in downtown Massillon, will be open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Fresh used vinyl also will be available. Live music will be performed 1 to 2 p.m. by Anya Van Rose and 2 to 3 p.m. by Marcus Waine.

Quonset Hut, 3775 Cleveland Ave. NW, will open at 9 a.m. The OG Street Eatz food truck will be on site 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Giveaways and mystery bags are also planned.

Also opening at 9 a.m. Saturday will be Blackbird Records at 8 Public Square in downtown Medina. Blackbird also will be selling limited vinyl releases at its downtown Wooster and Mansfield shops.

2. William Shatner at Hartville Toy and Comic Show

Former "Star Trek" actor William Shatner will appear 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Toy and Comic Show at Hartville MarketPlace, 1289 Edison St. NW.

Meyers Lake magic Canton art show remembers Meyers Lake Amusement Park with 50th anniversary tribute

Appearing from 2 to 4 p.m. will be Tom Wopat, John Schneider and Catherine Bach from "The Dukes of Hazzard." Former heavyweight boxing champion James "Buster" Douglas will appear noon to 2 p.m. Former professional wrestler Jim "Hacksaw" Duggan will appear from noon to 3 p.m.

The Hartville Toy and Comic Show is 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Players Guild Theatre will present "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" this weekend at Kent State University at Stark in Jackson Township.

Shows will be 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at The Mary J. Timken Theatre in the Fine Arts Building, 6000 Frank Ave. NW.

Stardust Dinner Theatre will present a "Golden Girls" tribute show Saturday in Jackson Township.

The performance features songs and will be based on three episodes from the hit television sitcom, including a murder mystery twist at the end.

Veteran comedian and magician Ed Ellis will perform this weekend at Krackpots Comedy Club in downtown Massillon.

The Canton native has been entertaining crowds for decades, including at Hilton Head Island Resort and Magic Castle Hollywood, as well as performing for troops in South Korea.

7. Lou Santini cracking jokes at the Roxy Theatre

Comedian and radio disc jockey Lou Santini will perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Roxy Theatre in downtown Minerva.

Directed by Kevin P. Kern, "The Prom" follows the story of Emma, a high school student in Indiana who sparks controversy when she announces her intention of bringing her girlfriend to the prom. The production "tackles important themes with wit and warmth," said a news release from Carnation City Players.

Amy Lily is making her Carnation City Players debut in the role of Emma Nolan. Ashley Burtscher is also performing with the theater company for the first time in the role of Emma's girlfriend.

10. Meyers Lake Amusement Park art show in Canton

Alexander's Art House in Canton is hosting an art show paying tribute to Meyers Lake Amusement Park.

The event is 7-10 p.m. Saturday at Alexander's Art House Gallery and Gift Shop, 2433 Fourth St. NW.

Gallery owner Alex Minturn will be presenting 18 paintings and 14 collage pieces themed after rides, landmarks and attractions at the amusement park, which closed in 1974.

Admission is free.

The gallery and gift shop will also exhibit vintage photos of Meyers Lake, original tickets, a pennant, reprints of old advertisements and other keepsakes, including original lighting and bolts from a roller coaster.
