The softball season is starting to gain some traction after a rain-filled week of April 8 left teams' schedules stuck in the mud. As the season rolls on, let's take a look at some of the hottest hitters in the Tri-State.

This list is a sequel to the top pitchers in Greater Cincinnati. Stats for each player are through April 16. Players are listed alphabetically.

Kylie Bailey, Waynesville

Bailey can hit for power and average as proven by her .609 average, .700 on-base percentage and six home runs. She has two multi-homer games, has scored 18 runs and has driven in 17 runs.

The Spartans are 8-1 with four run-rule victories.

She recently hit for the cycle with six RBIs and scored five runs as the Wolves came back to beat Sycamore.

Cochran is one of eight Eagles players hitting .435 or better. Her .556 average is good for third on the team and she leads her squad with 19 RBIs and eight doubles. Her speed has also been on display as she has seven stolen bases on seven attempts.

Glenn is making quite the impact in her first varsity season. She leads the Cincinnati Hills League with a .824 batting average, .828 on-base percentage and three home runs. Her 1.824 slugging percentage means she is essentially getting to second base every time she gets a hit. The sophomore is also second in league with 20 RBIs.

Kaylee Griffin, Talawanda

The sophomore is an expert at creating runs for her team as she leads the Southwest Ohio Conference with 23 RBIs. She also has a .535 average, a .510 on-base percentage and a .814 slugging percentage. She also hit a walk-off double to beat Harrison.

Haley Johnson, Bethel-Tate

Johnson's skills as a pitcher have helped her at the plate. Her ability to recognize pitches has led to a .676 average, a .739 on-base percentage, 29 RBIs, eight doubles and seven home runs. All of those numbers lead the Southern Buckeye Athletic & Academic Conference.

The senior has recorded three or more hits in six games. When her bat is hot, watch out.

Madelyn Kremer, Bishop Brossart

Kremer has some of the best all-around numbers for the 9-7 Mustangs. She has a .476 average, 19 RBIs, eight doubles, two triples, two home runs, and is 6-for-6 in stolen base attempts.

McKenna Manley, Mount Notre Dame

The Cougars have the three top hitters in the Girls Greater Catholic League in terms of batting average (Manley, Grace Pitzer and Kat Zielinski). Manley leads the league with .571 average and is second with 13 runs scored, 12 RBIs, two triples and a .679 on-base percentage. Thanks to five multi-hit games, she also has a 1.000 slugging percentage.

Danielle Oldfield, Walton-Verona

The senior's most eye-popping stats are that she is third in the state in batting average (.689) and doubles (11). She is also in the top 50 with 31 hits, four triples, a 1.244 slugging percentage and 27 runs scored.

Oldfield was recently named to the Eighth Region All "A" tournament team after going 8-for-9 with eight RBIs, nine runs scored, four doubles, a triple, a home run and two walks.

Halina Schulte, Lakota East

The Thunderhawks boast several impressive bats, but Schulte leads the way with a .438 average, 21 RBIs and six home runs. Three of her home runs came in a win over Cooper in which she also had seven RBIs.

The senior is also second in the Greater Miami Conference with 21 hits and 19 runs scored. She is the only player in the league that is in the top two for RBIs, home runs, hits and runs scored.
