The Batman's Robert Pattinson says he has a "deep, deep fear of humiliation"
The Batman star Robert Pattinson has revealed that he has a "deep, deep fear of humiliation".
In a conversation with comedian Jordan Firstman for Interview magazine, the actor was asked if he had ever done a project that he wasn't into. He explained that he hadn't due to his fear of humiliation.
"Not really. I have a deep, deep fear of humiliation," he said. "And also, you sort of know it's down to you. You can say it's a shitty script or the director's a dick or blah, blah, blah, but at the end of the day, no one's going to care about the reasons. You're the one who everyone's going to say is lame. And the vast majority of people will say you're lame even when you tried your best."
He went on to discuss the worry that comes with working as an actor. "I'm constantly thinking that you're just going to spend the vast majority of your life unemployed and desperate and kind of feeling like you’re a total failure," he said. "I think that's just what life is."

The Twilight actor has previously spoken out about the challenges of fame. "Pretty much every person I know who's got famous is completely nuts,” he said.
"It's just isolation and also the repetitiveness of your interactions with people… It's just weird."
Pattinson is a producer of Firstman's latest movie, Rotting in the Sun. Written and directed by Sebastián Silva, the dark comedy stars Silva and Firstman playing versions of themselves and is based on how they met on a gay beach in Mexico. Pattinson's production company Icki Eneo Arlo signed on to the movie before its premiere at Sundance in January.

The The Batman actor is set to play a serial killer in Netflix black comedy Average Height, Average Build, alongside Amy Adams and Robert Downey Jr. No release date for the movie has been announced yet.
Pattinson will also star with Knives Out's Toni Collette and Marvel's Mark Ruffalo in the science fiction movie Mickey 17. Directed by Parasite's Bong joon-ho, it is due to be released on March 29, 2024.
