Baskin-Robbins Is Selling a Turkey Ice Cream Cake for Thanksgiving This Year

With a little over a week to go until Thanksgiving, the countdown is on. We might be approaching the holidays a little differently this year, but that doesn’t mean we can’t still find some fun ways to celebrate. And Thanksgiving dinner tastes good no matter where you are. Maybe you’ve had your dinner menu planned for a month, or maybe you’re just now figuring it out…

Either way, we highly recommend checking out Baskin-Robbins’ turkey ice cream cake if you’re looking to up the sweet ante this Thanksgiving. This illusion cake looks just like the main course—except the inside is filled with ice cream instead of meat! We don’t know about you, but we’re having dessert first.

What’s in a Turkey Ice Cream Cake?

Sadly, Baskin-Robbins has not found a way to make delicious meat-flavored ice cream—though we’re kind of okay with that. Instead, this cake is glazed with caramel praline topping to look like a turkey on the outside, but on the inside you can pick any flavor of ice cream you want! Who needs light or dark meat when you can have Rocky Road?

The cake serves somewhere between 12 and 16 people depending on the size of your slices, and the “legs” of the cake are as edible as the rest of this masterpiece, as they’re made with sugar cones. (Warning: you might have to settle a family fight over who gets a drumstick!)

This cake has been a Baskin-Robbins since 2008, but I think we can all agree 2020 is the year we really needed it. We’ve also got plenty of other Thanksgiving dessert ideas if you need some more sweetness on the table.

When Can I Buy a Turkey Cake?

Baskin-Robbins is selling their turkey cakes through the month of November for around $38—but only while supplies last. You can pick one up at your local shop, or you can order online for some extra convenience. No matter how you place your order, do it before these cute cakes disappear for good.

After all, who can resist watching Grandpa slice into the turkey, only to see ice cream oozing out? This could be your best Thanksgiving centerpiece of all time. Before you get cooking, though, make sure you follow the CDC’s Thanksgiving guidelines for a safe holiday season.
