BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Rigdon scores 52 in Benjamin's first game of season

BENJAMIN – Grayson Rigdon proved he’s the best six-man football player in the state last week.

On Tuesday, he reminded everyone he’s just as prolific on the hardwood as he is the gridiron, scoring 52 points in Benjamin’s first basketball game of the season – an 86-46 victory against Harrold in District 16-A action.

Rigdon, who averaged 40 points per game last season, made 11 3-pointers against Harrold. That topped a strong 21-point performance by Harrold’s David Albineda, who scored all of his points from 3-point range.

Benjamin won Region II-A last season, falling in the state semifinals.
