Baseball: Seeds released for the 2024 Hunterdon/Warren/Sussex Tournament

Hunterdon Central will likely have to pull some upsets if they are to four-repeat as Hunterdon/Warren/Sussex Tournament baseball champions.

The Red Devils drew the No. 4 seed when the H/W/S brackets were released Monday. Pope John earned the top seed followed by No. 2 Sparta and third-seeded High Point.

Hunterdon Central captured the last three titles and met Pope John all three times in the finals.

Hunterdon Central (5-7) could have an intriguing quarterfinal against fifth-seeded North Hunterdon (8-5) if both teams advance.

Delaware Valley (7-3-1) is No. 8 and Voorhees (3-11) is seeded 16th.

The tournament opens Wednesday and continues with the second round on May 4, the quarterfinals May 8, the semifinals May 11 and the finals at host Phillipsburg High School on May 15 at 4 p.m.

The top 2 seeds have a double bye into the quarterfinals, with the No. 3 through No. 9 seeds automatically advancing to the second round.

The higher seeds up until the final will host games and the times are TBA.

16-Voorhees at 13-Lenape Valley, winner at 4-Hunterdon Central

9- Vernon at 8-Delaware Valley in second round, winner at 1-Pope John in quarterfinals

17-Newton at 12-Walkill Valley, winner at 5-North Hunterdon

18-Hopatcong at 11-Kittatinny, winner at 6-Phillipsburg

15-North Warren at 14-South Hunterdon, winner at 3-High Point

19-Belvidere at 10-Hackettstown, winner at 7-Warren Hills, winner at 2-High Sparta in quarterfinals
