PLEASANT PLAINS 9, RIVERTON 2: At Plains, Will Pankey manufactured a hit with two RBIs and coach Dave Greer picked up his 800th career win with the Cardinals.

That makes him the sixth coach in IHSA history to reach the milestone. He is in his 34th season at the helm with an 800-322 record since 1990.

Zach Ponce added a double and RBI. Owen Johnson garnered the win on the mound. He went four innings with one hit and two walks allowed with no runs. He struck out one. The Cardinals moved to 18-3 by splitting its two games on the day.

MOUNT ZION 4, PLEASANT PLAINS 3 (8 innings): At Plains, Charlie Severino and Cooper Schallenberg led off the order with two hits apiece in the nonconference loss for the Cardinals. Schallenberg had two RBIs.

Cale Hatcher struck out five in a no-decision. He lasted 6 1/3 innings and gave up just one earned run on three hits and two walks.

WILLIAMSVILLE 6, ATHENS 1: At Williamsville, Brayden Saling earned the win and gave up just one hit, two walks and one run in 5 2/3 innings in a Sangamo Conference meeting.

Joe Catalano had an RBI triple while Kyle Carter provided an RBI and a run despite no hits. Brecken Thomas, Nathan Simko and Braylon Singer each had a hit and run.

Kyle Weatherford took the loss in 3 2/3 innings. He ceded five earned runs on three hits and four walks with eight strikeouts. He provided a double with an RBI at the plate.

NEW BERLIN 1, PITTSFIELD 0: At New Berlin, Lucas Bixby totaled 13 strikeouts in a complete-game shutout.

He gave up just two hits and no walks. Bixby also had two of the team’s four hits. Trevor Colwell scored the lone run on a Rockman Prince RBI double in the third inning.

PETERSBURG PORTA 11, MASON CITY ILLINI CENTRAL 1 (5 innings): At Petersburg, Trace Donnan tripled and finished 2-for-2 with an RBI and run in the Sangamo Conference win.

Brayden Buffington delivered a hit with two RBIs and a run while Kashton Parker had a hit with an RBI and two runs.

Brody Landon picked up the win in a complete game. He allowed just two hits and one unearned run with seven strikeouts.

MOUNT PULASKI 17, MOWEAQUA CENTRAL A&M 3 (5 innings): At Mount Pulaski, Chance Payne flourished with two doubles, three RBIs and four runs in a nonconference win.

Landon Smith and Franklin Wade each scored three runs while Luke Martin went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs, including a triple.

Aaron Volle struck out eight in a complete game. He gave up three unearned runs with three htis and one walk allowed. The Hilltoppers improved to 17-1 overall.

NORMAL U-HIGH 13, JACKSONVILLE 1 (5 innings): At Jacksonville, Charlie Vercruysse led off the order with two hits, three RBIs and two runs in the Central State Eight Conference win.

Connor MacMillan supplied two hits with two RBIs and three runs in the No. 2 spot. Max Heineman had a hit and scored three runs while cleanup hitter Max Wille had two hits with three RBIs. Devan Tupper supplied three hits and two runs.

CARLINVILLE 2, HILLSBORO 1: At Carlinville, Noah Byots and Noah Convery reeled off the go-ahead RBI singles in the fifth inning in a nonconference win.

Convery tallied the win on the mound. He lasted 2 2/3 innings with five strikeouts and just one walk allowed.

Jace Stewart took the loss in six innings. He gave up two runs on five hits, three walks with five strikeouts.

PIASA SOUTHWESTERN 2, LITCHFIELD 0: At Litchfield, Marcus Payne threw a complete-game shutout and allowed just four hits and one walk with five strikeouts in a nonconference win for the Piasa Birds.

Rocky Darr had three hits and a run in the leadoff spot.

Tate Dobrinich took the loss despite seven strikeouts in six innings. He gave up two unearned runs on seven hits and a walk.

NOKOMIS 6, RAYMOND LINCOLNWOOD 5: At Raymond, Drake Taylor unleashed the game-tying RBI line drive while Nolan Herpstreith had the go-ahead RBI groundout in the sixth inning.

Nokomis added two runs in the top of the seventh inning before holding on for the MSM Conference victory. Izaak Doyen had an RBI line drive in the final frame and finished with two hits and three RBIs.

Kannon Jonas had three hits and two runs. Ian Keller picked up the win in 5 2/3 innings. He struck out seven and allowed three hits, four walks and three runs.

Mason Tryon finished 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run for the Lancers. He also drew two walks. Drew Gilpin had a hit with two RBIs.

RUSHVILLE-INDUSTRY 13, SCIOTA WEST PRAIRIE 2 (5 innings): At Rushville, Rylan Reimolds smashed a grand slam and finished 4-for-4 with seven RBIs and two runs in the win.

Josh Little (3-for-3) and Jason Klitz (2-for-2) combined for five hits, two RBIs and six runs. Jackson Spencer struck out seven in five innings.

QUINCY 5, BEARDSTOWN 3: At Quincy, Colby DeSollar produced two hits and an RBI in the nonconference loss. Teammate Gustavo Cortes homered.
