Friday's results

CHATHAM GLENWOOD 2, PEKIN 0: At Chatham, Dylan Huff singled in two runs in the bottom of the third inning and three Glenwood pitchers combined on a two-hit shutout in a nonconference victory.

Mason Marshall and Cru Erickson (3-for-3) got the second inning going with a pair of singles and they went to second and third after a wild pitch. With two outs, Huff drove them home with a single.

Huff, Andrew Wahlbrink and Cameron Appenzeller collectively struck out eight and walked three. Huff gave up one hit through three innings and Wahlbrink and Appenzeller threw two hitless innings.

LINCOLN 6, ROCHESTER 2: At Rochester, Lincoln scored four runs in the top of the fourth inning and won a Central State Eight Conference game.

After Drew Hayes gave Lincoln a 1-0 lead with an RBI single in the third, Griffin Shaw delivered a two-run double in the fourth. Trey Schilling and Brenden Wurth extended the Railers’ lead to 5-0 with a pair of run-scoring singles. Michael Lucas added an RBI double in the fifth.

Lincoln’s Wyatt Mammen was the winning pitcher. He yielded two earned runs on four hits with six strikeouts and two walks in 4 2/3 innings.

Rochester scored two runs in the bottom-half of the fifth. Jett Myren plated a run with a sacrifice fly and Lance Ingold drove in a run with a single.    

JACKSONVILLE 8, ATHENS 0: At Athens, Liam Lane ended a scoreless tie in the fourth with an RBI single and the Crimsons surged in the next two innings for a nonconference win.

Anderson Decker, who had three walks, scored on an error in the fifth and Jacksonville tacked on two more runs in the frame. Cody Fry scored two RBIs despite no hits.

Hayden Hicks earned the win in three innings. He had six strikeouts and allowed just two walks and two hits.

SOUTHEAST 11, LANPHIER 1 (6 innings): At Southeast, the host Spartans barreled ahead with a 9-0 lead after four innings en route to a Central State Eight Conference victory.

Miles Leininger picked up the win with nine strikeouts in five innings. He gave up four hits, three walks and one run.

Jaxon Cook had a triple and finished with two hits, two RBIs and two runs.

JACKSONVILLE ROUTT 15, SACRED HEART-GRIFFIN 8: At Jacksonville, the Rockets ignited with 10 runs over the fifth and sixth innings combined en route to a nonconference win.

Brady Turner went 3-for-6 with four RBIs and three runs, including a double.

Nolan Turner chipped in two hits, two RBIs and two runs while Bryson Mossman had three hits and two runs in the leadoff spot.

Isaac Long supplied two hits and two runs while Talon Thompson had a triple with three RBIs. Eli Olson had a hit with two RBIs and two runs.

A.J. Charpentier recorded the win in 1 2/3 innings with two strikeouts. He gave up three hits, one walk and three runs.

SHG’s Jake Kepler tripled and finished with two RBIs and two runs. Carter Butler, Charlie Linderman and Andy Antonacci each had two RBIs.

NORMAL U-HIGH 3, SPRINGFIELD HIGH 0: At Robin Roberts Stadium, Devan Tupper tallied the win over five innings with one hit and two walks allowed. He struck out four in the Central State Eight Conference win.

Deegan Aeilts and Max Wille each provided an RBI in the fourth inning.

PLEASANT PLAINS 3, CHICAGO HOLY TRINITY 0: At Plains, Charlie Severino doubled and tripled in the leadoff spot en route to a nonconference win.

Zach Ponce and Carter Durako each delivered an RBI for the Cardinals.

Colton Boon, Taylor Brewer, Sean Lowder, Cooper Schallenberg and Cale Hatcher combined to throw a shutout, giving up just three hits and one walk.

CARLINVILLE 10, PANA 9: At Pana, an eight-run sixth inning for Carlinville erased a 7-1 deficit and the Cavaliers pulled out a South Central Conference win.

Carlinville’s rally started with two outs in the sixth. Mason Wise singled in a run and two balks scored another. Camden Naugle (2-for-4, three RBIs) had a two-run single, and a run came home on a catcher’s interference to get Carlinville within 7-6.

Cash Enrietta scored on a passed ball to tie the game and Dom Alepra gave the Cavaliers a 9-7 lead with a two-run single.

Pana scored five runs in the second. Losing pitcher Parker Moore had an RBI single in the inning and the Panthers scored on a pair of passed balls. Madyx Angel finished 2-for-5 with two RBIs and Ryan Karbach drove in two runs in the loss.

BEARDSTOWN 15, PLEASANT HILL 3 (5 innings): At Pleasant Hill, Beardstown blew the game open with 10 runs in the top of the fourth in a five-inning game.

Zach Meyer went 2-for-3 with four RBIs and three runs scored for the Tigers. Zach DeSollar had three hits, an RBI and two runs, and Ethan Heller went deep with a two-run home run in Beardstown’s big fourth inning.

AUBURN 6, RAYMOND LINCOLNWOOD 4: At Raymond, Cooper Carter tallied the win with six strikeouts over five innings. He gave up six hits, two walks and four runs.

Carter also delivered two hits with an RBI and two runs. Clayton Dinardo belted out three hits with an RBI while Jed Furguson had two hits, two RBIs and a run.

Lincolnwood’s Jonah Elvidge homered and finished with two hits, two RBIs and a run. Lance Weitekamp had three hits with an RBI and two runs.

PIASA SOUTHWESTERN 7, HILLSBORO 0: At Hillsboro, Adam Hale totaled 10 strikeouts in a complete-game victory.

He yielded just four hits and two walks in the South Central Conference shutout. He bested Hillsboro’s Nathan Matoush, who took the loss despite 11 strikeouts with three unearned runs on three hits and one walk.

LUTHERAN 2, GRIGGSVILLE-PERRY 1: At Lutheran, Tad Andrews scored the go-ahead run in the bottom of the sixth inning and the Crusaders used a strong pitching performance to escape with a win.

Andrews walked, stole second and went to third on an error. He scored when Kahne Hall grounded out. Lutheran finished with just one hit and took a 1-0 lead when Andrews scored on an error in the fourth. Griggsville-Perry tied the game with a run in the fifth.

Winning pitcher Alex Sullivan and Caleb Cox combined on a four-hitter. Sullivan earned the win, throwing two scoreless innings, striking out two and walking one. Cox struck out seven, walked one and gave up one earned run on four hits in five innings of work.

NEW BERLIN 17, MASON CITY ILLINI CENTRAL 2 (4 innings): At New Berlin, Gannon Dodd and Lucas Bixby each had extra base hits in the Sangamo Conference win.

Dodd doubled with an RBI and two runs while Bixby tripled with an RBI and a run. Nolan Hart had two hits and two RBIs. Mason Scroggins recorded a hit with two RBIs and two runs while Andy Holloway scored three runs.

PETERSBURG PORTA 4, LENA-WINSLOW 0: At Petersburg, Levi Hoagland earned the win over six innings, allowing just two hits and two walks in nonconference play.

Hunter Roberts and Drew Atwater had two hits apiece for the Bluejays.

RUSHVILLE-INDUSTRY 7, AUGUSTA SOUTHEASTERN 1: At Rushville, Carter Fretueg struck out nine and gave up one unearned run on four walks and four hits over 4 2/3 innings in the triumph.

Bennett Fretueg and Jordan McGinnis each had three hits.

STAUNTON 6, VANDALIA 2: At Vandalia, Brady Gillen gave up four hits and one unearned run over four innings to pick up the South Central Conference win. He struck out seven.

Drake Billings had three hits while Dillon Pritchett had two hits and three RBIs.

GREENVILLE 10, NORTH MAC 0 (5 innings): At Greenville, North Mac finished with just one hit in a South Central Conference meeting.

Andrew Scroggins had the only hit for North Mac, a single in the top of the second inning.
