Baseball: North Jersey Top 25 rankings as county tournaments get started

County-tournament time has come to North Jersey baseball, with action in Passaic County already underway and the Bergen bracket set to come out Wednesday.

What makes this time of year fun is the opportunity to “compare notes”, so to speak, with where county coaches seed their teams. You can already see a change among the Passaic teams – when the seedings first came out, Passaic Valley was No. 5 in the bracket and Passaic was No. 6.

In the past week, Passaic has gotten red-hot and managed to nose one spot ahead of the Hornets as the fifth-highest ranked Passaic County team in the North Jersey Top 25.

Conversely, the release of the Bergen County seeds this week should give us plenty of food for thought when considering the rankings next week.

As always, the list remains akin to springtime weather in the Northeast. If it bothers you, fear not – everything could change in a week.
