Baseball: Latest reshuffled top 10 team rankings as April comes to a close

The month of May is just around the corner, and the postseason draws closer. Here's a current look at where teams in the Lower Hudson Valley stand on the baseball diamond.

All records entering April 30

  1. Ketcham (10-1) – The Storm returned to form in an unbeaten week that included wins over Mahopac, Clarkstown North and Yorktown, and they have some big league matchups to look forward to this week. Previously: 2

  2. Iona Prep (12-4) – The bats were kept in check as the Gaels suffered tough losses to St. Joseph's by the Sea and St. Raymond's, but they closed the week with a resounding lopsided win over Salesian and comfortably defeated St. Raymond's in a rematch on Monday. Previously: 1

  3. Kennedy Catholic (11-3) – Colin Spidal and Omar Giret each pitched gems on the mound, helping the Gaels earn back-to-back wins over Fordham Prep and Cardinal Spellman last week. Previously: 4

  4. Arlington (11-2) – Since splitting the season series with Ketcham, the Admirals kept their foot on the gas and plowed their way to five straight wins, a streak that includes shutouts in their last three outings against the likes of Carmel, Somers and John Jay-East Fishkill. Previously: 5

  5. John Jay-East Fishkill (6-2-1) The Patriots suffered their first losses of the year to Clarkstown North and league rival Arlington. How will the Patriots respond this week? Previously: 3

  6. Harrison (10-3) Fresh off of winning the Dave Basso Memorial Tournament, the Huskies are rolling into the week with an eight-game winning streak and are one of the hottest teams in the area at the moment. Previously: 8

  7. Mahopac (9-3-1) Despite a loss to Ketcham, the WolfPac depth, hitting and bullpen was able to hold up and succeed in a busy slate that included five games in six days. They enjoyed wins over Yorktown, John Jay-Cross River, Carmel and Brewster. Previously: T-10

  8. North Rockland (8-3) Boston College-bound ace Connor Southwell and the Suffern Mounties got the better of the Red Raiders this past week, as they won two out of three games in the season series and claimed the Crotty-Konkowski Cup. It'll be interesting to see how North Rockland does in its three-game series this week against Clarkstown South, who's shown tremendous growth since their first game of the season. Previously: 6

  9. Fox Lane (8-3) The Foxes recovered from their loss to White Plains with back-to-back wins over Ossining and Mamaroneck, before losing a 10-9 battle with Clarkstown South to end the week. Previously: 9

  10. Mamaroneck (7-5-1) The Tigers fell short against St. John's commit Tyler Renz and the Foxes, but they bounced back with a successful trip to Section 2, where they dispatched Shenendehowa and last year's Class A state champion, Columbia. Previously: T-10
