Barbra Streisand Remembers 'Charming' Co-Star Ryan O'Neal Following His Death

Barbara Streisand is paying tribute to former co-star Ryan O'Neal in the wake of his death at age 82.

Following news of O'Neal's passing on Friday, Dec. 8, Streisand, 81, took to social media to share some kind words in his honor, while looking back at the time they spent on films together.

"So sad to hear the news of Ryan O'Neal's passing. ❤️," she wrote on both Instagram and Twitter on Friday evening. "We made two films together, What’s Up, Doc? and The Main Event."

"He was funny and charming" Streisand recalled of the late actor, who she said "will be remembered."

Her post also included a photo of her and O'Neal from the set of What's Up Doc?, which premiered in 1972.

"Loved both the movies you were in together. ❤️ sorry for your loss," one of Streisand's followers wrote under her Instagram post.

"He was beautiful with you. 😞," someone else added.

Streisand isn't the first celeb to publicly mourn O'Neal, as Bones star David Boreanaz also shared a post to memorialize his late co-star on Friday.

"R.I.P. my friend," Boreanaz, 54, wrote in an Instagram Story on Friday, alongside a photo of O'Neal with the word "Icon" underneath it.

O'Neal's son Patrick O'Neal also shared a lengthy social media tribute in honor of his late father, where he confirmed that Love Story star died earlier in the day on Friday.

"My dad passed away peacefully today," he wrote in his emotional message, adding that O'Neal had "his loving team by his side supporting him and loving him as he would us."

The late Oscar-nominated actor is also survived by three other children: Tatum O'Neal, 60, Griffin O'Neal, 59 and Redmond James Fawcett O'Neal, 38, in addition to five grandchildren.
