'Barbie The Movie: In Concert' is coming to Missouri. Here's when tickets go on sale

The "Barbie" hype isn't quite over yet. This week, Live Nation and Mattel announced "Barbie The Movie: In Concert," a live-to-film concert experience that will bring the music from the new "Barbie" movie to life. The touring concert series will visit Missouri this summer.

"Barbie The Movie: In Concert" is produced by Overture Global Entertainment and will feature The Barbie Land Sinfonietta presented by orchestrator and executive producer Macy Schmidt's all-woman and majority women-of-color orchestra, according to a Live Nation news release.

"Barbie The Movie: In Concert" will make a stop at the Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre in St. Louis on Saturday, July 13, and Starlight Theatre in Kansas City on Monday, July 15. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, March 8.

The concert will feature the "Barbie" film displayed above The Barbie Land Sinfonietta on a giant LED screen. The orchestra will perform the film's score. Attendees are encouraged to dress up in their favorite Barbie attire for the concerts.

“Music lends so much heart and excitement to the 'Barbie' film; between the stunning and clever orchestral score and the upbeat iconic pop soundtrack, music is carrying us through the story,” Schmidt said in the Live Nation news release. “I’ve been so inspired by Mattel’s genuine commitment to everything this film stands for. I am particularly excited to be partnering with Mattel as I have long been inspired by Barbie’s purpose statement: ‘to inspire the limitless potential in every girl.’ It couldn’t be more aligned to have an all-women orchestra performing this film, bringing its message to life onstage.’”

Schmidt established The Sinfonietta in 2020 and the orchestra has performed in concert for feature films like "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" and "Cowboy Bebop." The orchestra has also performed alongside celebrities like Renee Rapp and Jordin Sparks.
