Barack Obama on Inflation Reduction Act: ‘This is a BFD’

He’s got jokes.

Barack Obama kept his take on the Inflation Reduction Act short and sweet in a tweet on Tuesday.

“This is a BFD,” he said in response to President Biden’s explanation of the law online.

Obama’s tweet was a reference to Biden’s own comments in 2010. While introducing then-President Obama after the Affordable Care Act passed, Biden whispered in Obama’s ear: “This is a big f---ing deal.”

Biden’s comments were caught by the microphones, and the two have played the ensuing controversy for jokes in the past 12 years. In April, Biden warned Obama about a hot mic at a White House event.

On Tuesday night, Biden replied to the 44th president’s tweet, with, “Thanks, Obama.”

The Inflation Reduction Act is designed to lower out-of-pocket Medicare costs and spend more than $350 million to combat climate change, among many other things.

But the jokes are priceless.
