New bar and banquet hall takes El Camino's spot on Michigan Avenue in Sheboygan. Here's what to know.

SHEBOYGAN – A new bar and banquet hall opened in the former El Camino Mexican Restaurant building, which closed this February.

C & G Bar Lounge, 819 Michigan Ave., has rental packages and bartending and food services.

With an interest in event planning, Marketing Manager Gao Chee Lor said the family-owned business wanted to provide an event space in Sheboygan. Other venues in the area include The Berkshire, Breaking Bread and The Village at 170.

Bar VIP packages range from $300 to $600 and include cases of beer and hard liquor.

A variety of Asian cuisine and other types of cuisine are available on the bar menu, including fried gizzards, spring rolls, crab Rangoon, mini tacos, pho noodle soup, grilled Hmong sausage and sliders.

Lor said C & G Bar Lounge is looking forward to having more community members utilize the space for events.

The banquet hall offers round tables and chairs, a stage and a sound system. Some rental packages also offer food tasting for up to four people. It has a 140-person capacity.

C & G Bar Lounge offers several banquet hall packages, with associated fees for room rental, and outside or inside food catering. They can be rented between 8 a.m. and midnight. Guests can also rent the entire building, patio and bartending services. The patio is available 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. seasonally.

The in-house catering buffet offers food by the tray, like eggrolls, red curry, chicken wings, fettuccini Alfredo and beef pot roast.

C & G Bar Lounge is open late nights on weekends

The bar is open 6 to 11 p.m. Thursdays and 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays. It could be open for more hours in the future. Text 920-400-6276 or email CGbarlounge@outlook.com to reserve the banquet hall.
