The Beach Boys coming to Benton Franklin Fair. Plus a country singer

“Good vibrations” will be coming to the Benton Franklin Fair in August.

The fair has booked The Beach Boys for Aug. 21.

It also has announced that country singer Craig Morgan has been booked for Aug. 20.

The Beach Boys touring band is led by one of its five founding members, Mike Love.

People magazine says the 2024 tour also includes longtime member Bruce Johnson and musical director Brian Eichenberger.

Rolling Stones ranks The Beach Boys as No. 12 on its list of the 100 greatest artists of all time.

The band has had 36 hits on the U.S. Top 40, the most by a U.S. rock band, and four of its hits have topped the Billboard Hot 100. It holds The Recording Academy’s Lifetime Achievement Grammy Award.

The California band released its first album, “Surfin’ Safari,” in 1962, celebrating surf culture and youth. Among its best known songs are “Surfin’ USA,” “Little Deuce Coupe,” “Surfer Girl,” “I Get Around” and “Fun, Fun, Fun.”

Tickets go on sale at 9 a.m. Friday, March 29, at the Benton Franklin Fair website.

Reserving a chair on the grass costs $30, a standing-room area close to the stage costs $40 and a VIP open seating area is $60. General admission to the fair also is required in addition to tickets for the special viewing area.

Admission is free with fair admission for people who sit on the lawn, in the bleachers or the beer garden.

Tickets already are on sale at the fair website, with the same price structure, to hear Morgan.

Concerts are at 7:45 each night of the fair, Aug. 20-24. Additional concerts will be announced in the weeks ahead.
