Baker Mayfield’s Comment On Flag Planting Is Going Viral
Former Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield wished his statue could’ve been the flag plant, but he still loves the current one that was made
Mayfield had a statue unveiled in his honor for how great he was as a Sooner. The statue shows him stiff-arming a player from Oklahoma State.
“Joe C wasn’t going to allow the flag plant,” Mayfield said. “We decided on the stiff arm of little brother. That’s there forever.”
Baker Mayfield asked about the choice of pose for his Heisman statue.
“Joe C wasn’t going to allow the flag plant. We decided on the stiff arm of little brother. That’s there forever.”

For those that forgot about the flag plant, when Oklahoma took down Ohio State in Columbus, Mayfield planted the Oklahoma flag at mid-field as a way of celebrating.
Mayfield is one of the best quarterbacks in school history and led the Sooners to the College Football Playoff the last two years he was there (2017, 2018).
His best season was in 2018 when he threw for 4,627 yards, 43 touchdowns, and only six interceptions.
He was then picked by the Cleveland Browns with the top overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.
