Autopsy Reveals Cause of Death for Devin Repath, Father of 2 Who Died at Childhood Friend’s Bachelor Party

Authorities have announced the cause of death for Devin Repath, the 26-year-old man who died following a bar fight at his childhood friend’s bachelor party, according to multiple reports.

Repath, a father of two, was caught up in a “savage” altercation at a Baton Rouge, La., bar on Saturday, when he was celebrating the surprise bachelor party he’d planned for his friend, according to authorities and witnesses.

He was declared deceased on Tuesday, the city's police department announced in a statement. An autopsy report released by the coroner’s office states Repath died from blunt force trauma to the head, WTOC, WAFB and WDBJ 7 report.

The manner of death has been ruled as homicide, the autopsy report stated, per WAFB. As of Thursday afternoon, police did not reveal any updates about a person of interest or suspect regarding the alleged attack.

Repath is being remembered as the “life of the party,” according to a GoFundMe.

"He could talk to anyone and have them laughing no matter his or her background or beliefs," an online obituary reads, later adding: "His presence alone was basically synonymous with smiles and laughter."

Repath was in a fist fight with a group early Saturday morning when the assailant allegedly brutally bashed in his head and torso, according to a witness who spoke with NOLA.com.

The witness, identified only as Simon G., told the outlet that he tried to intervene and help Repath out of the "savage fighting," describing the alleged attacker as "deranged."

"You ever see somebody and they look like they have demons in them? He had anger in his eyes, and he was causing trouble," Simon said.

A GoFundMe has been set up to assist Repath's partner and their children.
