BOYNE CITY — North Country Community Mental Health will host the 9th annual Autism Acceptance Walk on Sunday, April 28 in Boyne City.

Registration for the walk will begin at 9 a.m., with the walk starting at 10 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Park. The cost is $10.

The walk will be about a half mile in length and is open to individuals with autism, family, friends and the community. The event will also include prize drawings and family-friendly activities.

According to a press release from NCCMH, the walk is intended to “support one another, to celebrate those who are on the spectrum and those who live with or love someone with autism. We walk to increase awareness and understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorders and promote inclusivity.”

Event organizer Christine Dillon said around 215 people participated in last year’s walk, and participation continues to grow every year.
