Augusta woman surprised on 'The Jennifer Hudson Show,' meets Kerry Washington

When Hulu released its show "UnPrisoned" last year, critics and audiences were captivated. This week, one of the show's fans had an unforgettable experience.

Cindy Noir, a public speaker and media personality from Augusta, was invited to be an audience member during "The Jennifer Hudson Show" when Hudson was scheduled to interview the cast of "UnPrisoned."

Producers found Noir online after she posted a video online explaining how much she loved it and how important it is. In the show, Kerry Washington plays a therapist and single mom whose father moves into her house after he is released from prison.

"This show is healing and necessary to the Black community," Noir said. "Never have I seen a show so eloquently depict the experience of daddy issues from a Black woman's perspective. Never have I seen a show display in such a cute yet profound way the inner child dialogue of Black people."

Near the latter half of the "UnPrisoned" segment, Hudson surprised Noir by inviting her up onto the stage with the cast. She was visibly shocked, laughing in joy, and had a hard time finding the words.

"Thank you so, so much for making this show," Noir said to Washington. "My father wasn't imprisoned, but he and I were estranged when I was a child. So, to watch you...talking to each other, it got me to look at my inner child and talk to her too, and so it was a very, very healing experience. I think, this show helped me to see my dad as human and not just as a dad."

Washington was very touched and said to meet and hear directly from someone who resonated so much with the show is truly a gift.

After falling in love with the show, Noir has been needing to hear about a second season, and during Wednesday's episode, she got to ask that of Washington. When she confirmed that it is, Noir joined the whole audience in laughing and clapping in excitement. She also confirmed it will premiere on July 17.
