Augusta majorly featured in third episode of new CW show. Here's what we saw.

Augusta and the Richmond County Sheriff's Office are becoming regulars on CW's new series "Police 24/7."

The third episode aired Tuesday night, and RCSO has been featured in all three over the last few weeks. During the two-hour premiere they were heavily featured while in the second episode they got a couple of scenes. This week, less than 15 minutes of a 40-minute long episode (not including commercials) took place in Augusta.

The episode opening was not a calm one as deputies were seen responding to a shooting on East Chapman Street near May Park. The victim was found in the street with a gunshot wound in his arm with friends trying to help him. They gave a description of the shooter and deputies went looking for him. A suspect was found, and while a deputy searched his pockets, the suspect tried to flee but was quickly grabbed and pinned to the ground. During the scuffle, a gun was seen flying out of his pocket. It was almost left behind, but a deputy eventually retrieved it, and it was confirmed the gun had been stolen.

In a later scene, deputies went to investigate a domestic issue involving two men and found one young man had been stabbed in the abdomen and his arm was sliced. This was allegedly done by his grandmother's boyfriend when a fight broke out. However, deputies watched some video footage of the incident which pointed to this being a case of self defense.

In both cases, medics with Central EMS were seen reporting to the scene and treating those injured.

But not every scene was so steeped in violence. One such involved a deputy being flagged down by an anonymous tipster who said some mailboxes in the area of Olive Road were being used as drug drops. In one mailbox was marijuana, and in another was more weed plus pills and promethazine with codeine.

Another scene was a simple case of trespassing, while a more light-hearted one involved helping a woman's disabled vehicle on Wrightsboro Road outside the Indian Queen. Some men were trying to help the woman, and it turned out one of the men had been arrested by the assisting deputy some time in the past. The two men laughed about the situation, not wanting to give details in front of the cameras, but the man did remark, "It's all fun and games until (you're) in one of them police cars."

All of these were incidents were sandwiched in between drone and drive-by shots of the Savannah River, Washington Road, Gordon Highway, and other notable Augusta landmarks.

All three episodes of the series are available to watch for free on cwtv.com and on the CW app, which is available on smart phones as well as smart TVs. New episodes of "Police 24/7" air at 8 p.m. Tuesdays and are available to stream the next day.
