Bryan Harsin is the most scrutinized coach in America right now. He was bound to garner at least one supporter through it all, though, right? The answer is yes.

Auburn quarterback TJ Finley came out in full defense of his head coach in an interview on ESPN Radio.

“We’re behind coach Harsin,” Finley said last Friday on ESPN Radio, as transcsribed by 247Sports. “Coach Harsin is a great coach, he has a great mentality and he’s done an amazing job transforming himself from Year 1 to Year 2, to better himself to be a better coach for this Auburn football team. And I don’t think a lot of people outside of the Auburn community can see that, because all they see is negativity on social media.

“The fact that there is negativity about coach Harsin on the internet is just mind-boggling to all of us as players and all of us as leaders on this team because we know what type of person coach Harsin is.”

It seems like it’s only a matter of time before Auburn finds a legitimate reason to fire Bryan Harsin. But perhaps the situation could flip if more players like Finley come out in defense of the Tigers’ head coach.

Here’s what Auburn University most recently had to say about the situation:

“The Auburn administration is judiciously collecting information from a variety of perspectives, including our student-athletes, and moving swiftly to understand any issues in accordance with university policies and procedures. Decisions regarding the future of Auburn and its Athletics programs, as always, are made in the interests of our great university and in fairness to all concerned. We do not make institutional decisions based on social media posts or media headlines.”

Will Harsin be coaching at Auburn next season? Finley certainly wants him to stay.
