Spring is in the air and Easter is on Sunday, March 31. A number of community groups and churches around Corpus Christi have spring and Easter festivals planned for a fun-filled time with family and friends.

Photos with the Easter Bunny at La Palmera

Visit with the Easter Bunny and take photos from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays; 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Fridays and Saturday; and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays now through Saturday, March 30, in the center court of La Palmera mall, 5488 S. Padre Island Drive. Make a reservation to cut down on your wait time, but walk-ins are always welcome. La Palmera mall presents Pet Night with the Easter Bunny from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 13 and Thursday, March 14, in the mall center court, 5488 S. Padre Island Drive. Pet lovers can bring their favorite dog or cat for photos and support local animal organizations. Dogs and cats only, and pet must remain on leash or in a carrier. Quiet Time with Bunny at La Palmera

Designed for special needs children and their families to enjoy a visit with Santa in a sensory-friendly environment before the mall opens with extra time for those who may have developmental or physical challenges. St. Paddy’s Festival

The 2024 St. Paddy’s Festival begins at noon Saturday, March 16, at Peoples and Water streets. The festival has grown and will close down Water Street and take over the enormous lot across from Cassidy's Irish Pub. With this new area, there will be a larger stage, more vendors, several local food trucks, a larger kids zone, 12 bands including Pipes and Drums, and bigger tents for seating. Second annual Easter Egg Hunt Eggstravaganza

The Coastal Bend Tejano Democrats presents the second annual Easter Egg Hunt Eggstravaganza from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, March 17, at the Boys and Girls Club of the Coastal Bend, 3902 Greenwood Drive. Bingo with Bunny at La Palmera

La Palmera mall presents Bingo with Bunny from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, in the La Palmera Cafes food court, 5488 S. Padre Island Drive. In addition to a special appearance by the Easter Bunny himself, guests can join five rounds of traditional Bingo with the winner receiving a $25 La Palmera gift card for each of the first four rounds, with the winner of the final blackout round taking home a $50 La Palmera gift card. Egg Hunt by the Bay

Corpus Christi Parks and Recreation Dept. presents the third annual Egg Hunt by the Bay from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 23, at Water’s Edge Park, 602 S. Shoreline Blvd. Featuring egg hunts by age group, lawn games, inflatables, and food trucks. Egg hunts begin at 12:15 p.m. for ages 4 and younger; 12:45 p.m. for ages 5 to 8; and 1:30 p.m. for ages 9 and older. Cost: Free. 82nd annual Easter Sunrise Passion Play

The 82nd annual Easter Sunrise Passion Play begins at sunrise (around 7:20 a.m.) Sunday, March 31, at the Cole Park amphitheater, 2600 Ocean Drive. The annual event traces the steps of Jesus from his betrayal on Holy Thursday until his resurrection on Easter Sunday with the sun rising over Corpus Christi Bay in the background. Walk with Jesus on Good Friday, March 29, along Ocean Drive. For volunteers interested in participating in the play, rehearsals are at 2:30 p.m. Sundays, March 10, March 17 and March 24; Full-day dress rehearsal from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 30. Easter Eggstravaganza at Heritage Park

Venture Church presents Easter Eggstravaganza from 4-7 p.m. Sunday, March 31, at Heritage Park, 1581 N. 2024 Windfest in Portland

Portland’s 49th annual Windfest is April 4-7, at Daniel P. Moore Community Complex, 1900 Billy G. Webb Drive, Portland. Hours are 4-10 p.m. Thursday (carnival and parade only, parade starts at 6 p.m.); 4-11:30 p.m. Friday; 11 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Saturday; and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Staples St. This spring fundraiser coincides with the $2 Community Day entrance fee. Shop hundreds of plant varieties—orchids, plumeria, natives, Xeriscape, tropicals, butterfly attractors along with specialty vendors, plus see butterfly and ladybug releases, Animal Ambassadors, kids’ play area, food trucks, and Nature’s Boutique. Earth Day-Bay Day festival at Heritage Park

The Coastal Bend Bays Foundation presents the 25th anniversary of Earth Day-Bay Day festival from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 13, in Heritage Park, 1581 N. Chaparral St. This family-friendly community festival is filled with interactive educational exhibits and activities, wild animal shows, plant giveaways, food, freebies and more. The goal is to bring education, conservation, participation, habitat protection, and career choices together in a fun atmosphere to help educate and promote environmental awareness here in our Coastal Bend.
