A college football game told us who will win the 2016 election

Updated

Turn off the news, put the electoral prediction maps away –- a college football game has already determined everything we need to know about who will be elected president on Tuesday.

The Alabama vs. LSU rivalry seems to hold more power than sending a team to the SEC Championship. Ever since 1984, the game has accurately predicted the next president.

In the past eight presidential election years, both LSU and Alabama have won four times each.

"Every presidential year LSU won the game, the Republican nominee won the presidency. And every presidential year Alabama won the game, the Democratic nominee took office," AL.com's John Archibald revealed.

Alabama beat LSU 10-0 on Saturday.

If the historical pattern continues, this means Hillary Clinton will be elected president on Tuesday.
