Chicago news anchors take shots on-air after Cubs win the World Series

Updated

Unless you've been sleeping under a rock or visiting Mars, you're well aware that the Chicago Cubs won the World Series Wednesday night.

The team clinched their first championship since 1908 with a 8-7 win in the tenth inning over the Cleveland Indians, becoming the sixth team in history to complete the comeback from a three-games-to-one Fall Classic deficit.

Since it's been more than a century since the Cubs last World Series win, naturally, the good people of Illinois are pretty jazzed about the victory -- especially these WGN-TV news anchors.

A long-time writer at the network passed out "candy" to everyone on-air after the game Wednesday night so they could properly celebrate the long-awaited victory together.

Cheers guys, this one's long overdue.
