A person wearing a gorilla suit and a tank top with the words "All Lives Matter" on it ran onto the field during a NFL game on Sunday.

The racist display happened during the fourth quarter of a game between the Chicago Bears and Detroit Lions at Soldier Field in Chicago.

The person was tackled by Soldier Field security and later arrested by police, according to Adam Jahns of the Chicago-Sun Times. The incident was only briefly captured by TV cameras.

This comes after weeks of protests in the NFL by players against racial inequality and police violence against black Americans, started by 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

On Sunday, the protests continued, with Washington's DeSean Jackson wearing cleats with police tape on them and Antonio Cromartie of the Indianapolis Colts taking a knee during a game at Wembley Stadium in London.

The string of high-profile shootings continued last week with the death of Alfred Okwera Olango in El Cajon, California, who was shot by police for getting into a "shooting stance" with a vape pen.
