ACC Championship moving to Orlando from Charlotte

The ACC Championship Game is moving from Charlotte to Orlando.

After the conference's decision to remove its football title game from Charlotte due to the controversial North Carolina "Bathroom Bill," the game has found its new home. According to Sports Illustrated, the game will now be played at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida.

The ACC made the official announcement today, after reports of the move surfaced earlier in the week.

The ACC is not the first organization to move away from North Carolina. The NCAA recently moved 13 of its Division I and Division II neutral site games from North Carolina. The NBA also relocated its All-Star Game to New Orleans in response to the law.

Sports Illustrated explains the law as such:

"House Bill 2 limits anti-discrimination protections for lesbian, gay, and transgender people, and requires people to use public restrooms that correspond with the sex listed on their birth certificates."

The ACC will move its Championships for other sports, such as women's soccer and men's and women's swimming, as well.
