Man on boat with Marlins pitcher Jose Fernandez had chilling text conversation before death: 'It's not my time yet'

We now have more details of what happened to Marlins pitcher Jose Fernandez and his two friends Emilio Macia and Eduardo Rivero before their untimely deaths on Sunday morning.

According to TMZ, Fernandez was spotted at a popular Miami waterfront bar at around 2am in the morning.

Multiple sources have told us ... Fernandez and at least one other person who was killed in the crash was at American Social Bar & Kitchen around 2 AM on Sunday morning.

When asked for specifics about what happened inside — including whether alcohol was served to Jose or his friends — a rep for the restaurant would only say, "Jose Fernandez was a guest at American Social."

WPLG 10 Miami spoke to several friends of Eduardo Rivero, one of the men who died on the boat, and they said that Fernandez wanted to go out to blow off some steam because he was stressed out.

Rivero's friends said Fernandez was stressed out about something and needed to blow off steam on the water.

They said Rivero messaged another friend and was hesitant about going out on the boat, but went anyway to keep Fernandez close to shore.

One of Rivero's last texts to a friend was: "Trust me. It's not my time."
